    Abstract: Polyesters comprising at least one diacid-based building block, at least one diol-based building block and at least one polyol-based building block, wherein the diacid-based building block comprises a group of formula (I) wherein R1 is a group according to the general formula CH2-CH2-O(AO)X-H, with x being a number from zero to 75 and AO being alkylene oxide selected from ethylene oxide and combinations of ethylene oxide with at least one of propylene oxide and butylene oxide, wherein polyol building blocks are derived from compounds having at least three alcoholic hydroxyl groups, and wherein the asterisks indicate bonds to diol or polyol building blocks through the ester oxygen atoms, and wherein the molar ratio of diacid-based building block to the sum of diol building blocks and polyol building blocks is in the range from 2:1 to 1:2.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a branched polyester formed by an acid component, a diol component and a polyol component, wherein the acid component comprises an amino dicarboxylic acid of formula (I), wherein R1 is hydrogen or a hydrocarbon having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and wherein in the hydrocarbon one or more carbon atoms can be replaced by an oxygen, provided that the replace carbon is not a primary carbon atom and in case of more than one oxygen replacing carbon atoms at least two carbon atoms are between adjacent oxygen atoms, wherein the diol component comprises a diol, wherein the polyol component comprises a polyol and wherein the acid component forms carboxylic acid ester groups with the diol component and the polyol component and the dashed lines indicate the bondage to the diol or the polyol via the commonly shared oxygen, characterized in that the molar ratio of diol component and polyol component is in the range from 2:1 to 1:2. The invention further relates to a process for preparing said branched polyester, a reaction product of said branched polyester with a polyisocyanate and the use of said reaction product.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to novel modified alkoxylated polyalkylene imines obtainable by a process comprising the steps a) to b). According to step a), a polyalkylene imine comprising at least one tertiary amino moiety bearing a C1-C18-alkyl substituent as such is reacted with an alkylene oxide (AO) in order to obtain an intermediate (I). Said intermediate (I) is reacted with a lactone and/or a hydroxy carbon acid in step b) in order to obtain the novel modified alkoxylated polyalkylene imines according to the present invention. The present invention further relates to a process as such for preparing such modified alkoxylated polyalkylene imines as well as to the use of such compounds within, for example, cleaning compositions and/or in fabric and home care products. Furthermore, the present invention also relates to those compositions or products as such.
