Abstract:
The present invention provides a porous glass having excellent antireflection performance for visible light. A porous glass includes a porous layer which is mainly composed of silica and which has pores attributed to spinodal phase separation and pores attributed to binodal phase separation.
Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing an optical member having a porous glass layer on a substrate, containing fewer voids, and undergoing less crystallization. A method for manufacturing an optical member having a porous glass layer 41 on a substrate 1 includes forming a glass powder layer 2 containing a plurality of glass powders on the substrate 1, fusing the glass powders in the glass powder layer 2 to form a mother glass layer 21 containing silicon and aluminum, causing phase separation of the mother glass layer 21 to form a phase-separated glass layer 31, and etching the phase-separated glass layer 31 to form a porous glass layer 41. The fusion index M and the ratio A of aluminum to silicon of the mother glass layer 21 in the forming of the mother glass layer 21 satisfy particular relations.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an optical member including a porous glass film on a base member, wherein a ripple is suppressed. The optical member includes the base member and the porous glass film disposed on the base member, wherein the porosity increases in the direction from the base member toward the porous glass film in an interfacial region between the base member and the porous glass film and the porosity is continuous in the film thickness direction from the base member to the surface of the porous glass film in the optical member.
