An apparatus is used with supplied power for treating air in an environment. A mobile housing in the environment has an intake and an exhaust. At least one prime mover disposed in the housing between the intake and the exhaust is operable to move the air in the environment through the housing from the intake to the exhaust. At least one ultraviolet light source disposed in the housing is connected in electrical communication with the supplied power and is configured to generate ultraviolet radiation in at least one a portion of the housing through which the moved air passes from the intake to the exhaust. At least one permeable barrier disposed in the housing is configured to impede the moved air flow therethrough up to an impedance threshold. The at least one permeable barrier is connected in electrical communication to the supplied power and being heated to a surface temperature.

The filter unit (1) comprises: a housing element (3) with an open first side and an open opposing, second side, the housing element (3) comprising a first set of filter element supporting elements (23); a first cover (5) sealingly connected to the first side of the housing element (3); a second, different cover (7) sealingly connected to the second side of the housing element (3), the second cover (7) comprising a second set of filter element supporting elements (25); a filter unit inlet (9); a filter unit outlet; a first filter element (13) for providing a fine filtering property of the liquid; and a second filter element (21) arranged between the first filter element (13) and the inlet (9) for providing a coarse filtering property of the liquid. Filter media comprising fine staple fibers and related components, systems, and methods associated therewith are provided. In some embodiments, a filter media may include a layer (e.g., a wet laid layer) comprising polymeric staple fibers having a relatively small average diameter (e.g., less than or equal to about 1 micron). The polymeric staple fiber layer may be designed to impart desirable properties to the filter media, such as a high particulate efficiency and/or fluid separation efficiency, while having relatively minimal or no adverse effects on one or more properties of the filter media that are important for a given application. The filter media, described herein, may be particularly well- suited for a variety of applications.

Embodiments provide a filter with a generally rectangular, non-cylindrical profile. The filter may have multiple pleat packs positioned between pleat covers that define regions and flow channels in a cavity of the filter body. The pleat covers have openings that allow a fluid to flow through the multiple pleat packs via parallel flows or series flows. End caps bonded to the body define flow passages for directing the fluid from an inlet to an outlet via the pleat packs for series or parallel filtration. The pleat packs may be made of the same or different materials and may be configured with the same or different heights based on flow requirements. A cage or a separator may be positioned between the pleat packs. The pleat packs may be made of a continuous pleated membrane with bridges defining a space between the pleat packs to accommodate the cage or separator.

The filter assemblies include an upstream carbon-containing filter media pack and a downstream filter media pack.
