    摘要: LED-based light fixtures are presented that are configured for attachment to a substrate (204) to advantageously function without a reflector and without a backing plate. A light fixture according to an embodiment includes a waveguide (202) having a front surface and a rear surface for emitting light, the waveguide (202) configured to optically couple to a surface of a substrate (204). The light fixture also includes at least one LED light source disposed on an edge of the waveguide (202) to emit light into the waveguide (202). The waveguide (202) is configured to emit a first portion of the light above the rear surface for reflection by the surface of the substrate (204) back into the waveguide (202) and through the front surface of the waveguide (202), and to emit a second portion of the light through the front surface.

    摘要: A system and method according to various embodiments combines three separate technologies to form a unique lighting system with enhanced antimicrobial properties and air cleaning capabilities. The combination of the three technologies also produces a lighting system that extends the required maintenance period for lighting fixtures. The first technology is based on anatase type T1O2. The second and third technologies are based on the use of micro-sized surface structures to generate light scattering effects and, at the same time, reduce bacterial colonization and inhibit bacterial migration even during the absence of light or in dark environments.

    摘要: A lamp is provided which is suitable for use in low-profile applications. The lamp includes a light source and a lens. The lens includes a first surface opposite a second surface, where the second surface includes an injection surface and the first surface includes a multi-faceted optical element converging towards the injection surface. The light source injects light into the lens via the injection surface and the light refracts through the first surface while total internally reflecting off the first surface and the second surface toward the periphery of the lens.
