Abstract:
A concentrate composition comprising: (a) at least 0.1 wt% of a surfactant compound; and (b) at least 10 wt% one or more ingredients selected from aldehydes, succinimidyl esters, chelating agents and amine salts of carboxylic acids.
Abstract:
A method of treating a material, the method comprising the steps of: (1) contacting the material with a composition comprising an electrophilic species selected from aldehydes, succinimidyl esters, and mixtures thereof; (2) contacting the material with a composition comprising a chelating agent and/or a salt of an amine and/or a carboxylic acid.
Abstract:
A method of combatting colour loss from a dyed material, the method comprising the steps of: (1) contacting the material with a composition comprising an electrophilic species selected from aldehydes, succinimidyl esters, and mixtures thereof; (2) contacting the material with a composition comprising a chelating agent and/or a salt of an amine and/ora carboxylic acid.
Abstract:
A method of combatting colour loss from a dyed material, the method comprising contacting the material with a composition comprising an amine salt of a carboxylic acid wherein the carboxylic acid has 4 to 10 carbon atoms.
Abstract:
A method of combatting colour loss from a dyed material, the method comprising contacting the material with a composition comprising a polycarboxylic acid derived chelating agent.
Abstract:
A salt of an acidic chelating agent including an amine functionality, the salt comprising at least 0.25 mole of an alkaline earth metal per mole of acidic protons provided by the chelating agent; wherein the acidic chelating agent is not ethylene diamine disuccinic acid.
Abstract:
A process for the bleaching of wood pulp using one or more peroxide oxidising agents wherein the process includes treatment of the pulp with a mixture of chelating agents comprising: (a) a first chelating agent selected from the group consisting of: ethylenediamine N,N -disuccinic acid, methylglycinediacetic acid, glutamic acid N,N-diacetic acid, imino disuccinic acid and anions and mixtures thereof; and (b) a second chelating agent selected from the group consisting of: diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid, ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid, diethylenetriamine penta methylene phosphonic acid and anions and mixtures thereof.
Abstract:
The invention teaches that hydrocarbon compositions may be improved in terms of their stability reserve and in terms of their combustion efficiency, by co-use of a conductivity improver. There is optionally presenta combustion improver selected from an iron compound, a manganese compound, a calcium compound and a cerium compound; and/or an organic compound selected from a bicyclic monoterpene, a substituted bicyclic monoterpene, adamantane, a substituted or unsubstituted bicyclic tetraterpene, and propylene carbonate.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a salt of ethylenediamine disuccinic acid comprising at least 1.6 mole of alkaline earth metal per mole of ethylenediamine disuccinic acid. Salts of the invention have been found to be useful in providing compositions comprising hydrogen peroxide having improved stability.
