Abstract:
The invention relates to a folding module (13) intended for a machine (1) for producing mailing covers, comprising two counter-rotating folding rollers (18a, 18b) defining an area (ZR) for receiving at least one envelope document, an input area (20) and an output area (ZS) from which said folded envelope document is output according to a predefined folding line, and a support means (22) which is translatably movable perpendicular to the receiving area (ZR) between a passive position and an active position in which said means moves said envelope document from said receiving area (ZR) to the inside of said input area (20). A support roller (22') mounted such as to be freely rotatable at the end of said support means (22) accompanies, in the active position, said envelope document (4) without sliding until coming into contact with one of the folding rollers (18a, 18b) thus guaranteeing high folding accuracy.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for producing mailing covers from either a width (101) or a side (104) of material, each mailing cover (32) consisting of printed content documents (3) and a printed envelope document (2), said method involving cutting the content documents (3), stacking them in a bundle and folding them in the format of the mailing cover, cutting and grooving the envelope documents (2), folding the side flaps (22) of the envelope document (2) over the folded content documents (3), applying glue to the side flaps (22) and/or the back (24) of said envelope document (2), folding the envelope document (2) in two around the folded content documents (3), and laterally closing the envelope document (2) by gluing the back (24) onto said side flaps (22), then applying glue and folding the closing flap (21) to the back (24) of the envelope document (2) to close it transversely and thus complete the mailing cover (32).
