Abstract: A tyre (1) for vehicle wheels comprising a tread band (2) upon which there is at least a first groove (10; 11) extending in a longitudinal direction and a first plurality of restricting elements (20; 30) provided inside said first groove for restricting the cross section of said first groove. Each restricting element has a substantially quadrilateral shape in which there is identified a first pair of opposite sides (21; 31) which extend in a first direction (A; B) that is inclined with respect to said longitudinal direction by an angle of between 30° and 80°.

Abstract: A tyre (1) for vehicle wheels comprises a tread band (2) on which a radially external tread surface (3) and a tread pattern are defined, and in which the following are defined: - a central region (5) of the tread band, extending circumferentially about an equatorial plane (X) of the tyre over a width equal to at least 30% of an effective width (L) of the tread band; - a first and a second shoulder region (6, 7) extending, respectively, on opposite sides of the central region, in an axially outer position of the tread band, each over a width equal to at least 20% of an effective width (L) of the tread band; the tread pattern, on each of the first and second shoulder regions and the central region, comprises a respective plurality of transverse grooves (20; 30; 40; 50) comprising a bottom (23; 33; 43; 53) and a pair of lateral walls (24, 25; 34, 35; 44, 45; 54, 55) facing one another. These lateral walls extend from the bottom towards the tread surface with a first inclination relative to a radial direction, and are joined, over at least a portion of their extent, to the tread surface by respective chamfers (26, 27; 36, 37; 46, 47; 56, 57), having a second inclination relative to the radial direction which is greater than the first inclination.
