Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the treatment of a material other than the human body, in which the material to be treated is mixed or brought into contact with a composition comprising: a) at least one compound A which is selected from dianhydrohexitol ethers, preferably dimethyl isosorbide; and b) at least one compound B which is selected from alkaline agents, acid agents and solubilising agents which are chosen from among liquid fatty alcohols at 25 °C other than isostearylic alcohol, non-fatty alcohols, terpenic compounds, aldehydes, ketones, fluoro compounds, sulphur compounds, ethers, esters and supercritical fluids.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a thermoplastic and/or elastomer composition that comprises: at least 50 wt % and 99.95 wt % at most of a starchy composition (a) including at least one starch; at least 0.05 wt % and 50 wt % at most of a nanometric product (b) including particles having at least one dimension of 0.1 to 500 nanometers and selected from mixed products containing at least one lamellar clay and at least one cationic oligomer or cationic synthetic polymer, organic, mineral or mixed nanotubes, organic, mineral or mixed nanocrystals and nanocrystallites, organic, mineral or mixed nanobeads and nanospheres customised into clusters or agglomerated, and mixtures of these nanometric products, the percentage being expressed in dry weight and added to the sum in dry weight of (a) and (b); and at least one non-starchy polymer (c).
Abstract:
The subject matter of the present invention is a starch-based composition comprising: (a) at least 51% by weight of a plasticized amylaceous composition comprising starch and a plasticizer for said starch, obtained by thermomechanically mixing granular starch and a plasticizer for said starch, (b) at most 49% by weight of at least one non-amylaceous polymer, and (c) a bonding agent having a molecular mass of less than 5000, comprising at least two functions, at least one which is capable of reacting with the plasticizer and at least another of which is capable of reacting with the starch and/or the non-amylaceous polymer, these amounts being expressed with respect to solids and relative to the sum of (a) and (b), a method for preparing such a composition and a thermoplastic composition obtained by heating such a composition.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a surface treatment method, in which a material other than the human body, which is selected from metallic materials and fibrous materials, is brought into contact with a composition comprising at least one dianhydrohexitol ether (compound A). The dianhydrohexitol ether can be associated with a compound B which is selected from among solubilising agents, acid agents and alkaline agents. The fibrous material to undergo surface treatment is chosen from the following materials in particular, namely: wood materials, vegetable materials, paper materials and textile materials.
Abstract:
The subject matter of the present invention is a method for preparing a starch-based thermoplastic composition, comprising the following steps: (a) selecting at least one granular starch and at least one organic plasticizer for this starch, (b) preparing a plasticized composition by thermomechanically mixing this starch and this plasticizer, (c) optionally incorporating at least one functional substance carrying functions comprising an active hydrogen, (d) incorporating at least one bonding agent carrying at least two functional groups capable of reacting with molecules carrying functions comprising an active hydrogen, and optionally (e) heating the mixture to a temperature sufficient to cause the bonding agent to react with the plasticizer and with the starch and/or the functional substance, it being possible for steps (d) and (e) to be carried out simultaneously, and also a starch-based thermoplastic composition that can be obtained by means of this method.
Abstract:
The subject matter of the present invention is a novel starch-based composition comprising: (a) at least 45% by weight of at least one soluble starch, (b) at most 55% by weight of at least one non-biodegradable, non-amylaceous polymer, and (c) a bonding agent carrying at least two functional groups capable of reacting with molecules carrying functions comprising an active hydrogen, these amounts being expressed with respect to solids and relative to the sum of (a) and (b). The present invention also relates to a method for preparing such a starch-based composition and to a thermoplastic composition prepared by heating such a composition.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an adhesive composition, characterised in comprising at least one vegetable starch the amylose content of which is between 30 and 60%. The invention further relates to the method for using said composition, including application thereof to lignocellulose materials, the forming of a panel and the hot pressing thereof. The emissions of formaldehyde vapour during said method are as low as possible. The invention further relates to the panels produced as above and in particular the panels emitting reduced amounts of formaldehyde into the atmosphere.
