A method and a system to control an auxiliary brake system in a vehicle 100, comprising a service brake system. 150 and auxiliary brake system 160, are presented. The vehicle also comprises a system for prevention of wheel lock when braking, which may deactivate a braking action provided by an auxiliary brake system 160 and may actively control a braking action provided by the service brake system 150, The system according to the present invention is arranged to determine whether the vehicle 100 is in a driving mode for which it is acceptable in terms of safety and/or drivability to block the deactivation of the braking action for the auxiliary brake system 160, If a first manual control 170, set up solely for the activation of braking action for the auxiliary brake system 160, is activated, this is here interpreted to mean that it is acceptable, from, a safety and/or drivability point of view for the driving mode in question, to block the deactivation. The system is also arranged to block the deactivation for the auxiliary brake system 160 if the determination snows that it is acceptable in terms of safety and drivability to block, the deactivation of this braking action.

The invention relates to a control device for a retarder (2), comprising a first shaft (18) which is connected to a rotor (20) of the retarder (2), a second shaft (22) which is arranged to engage with a driving source, and a first clutch element (54) arranged between the first and second shafts (18, 22), and a pressure sensor (19) arranged in a torus (44) formed between the rotor (20) and a stator. The pressure sensor (19) is connected with a control device (16), which is arranged to receive signals from the pressure sensor (19) in relation to the pressure (p) measured in the torus (44), and arranged to emit signals to control the clutch element (54) depending on the pressure (p) measured in the torus (44). The invention also relates to a vehicle, comprising such a control device (4), and a method for the connection of a retarder (2).

The invention pertains to a retarder (2) to brake a driving source (1, 4, 6, 10), comprising a retarder shaft (24), which is engaged to a rotor (40) and an oil pump (42); a stator (44) which jointly with the rotor (40) forms a torus (52) for the receipt of retarder oil (18); a retarder oil circuit (56), which is engaged with the oil pump (42) and the torus (52); a clutch device (34) for engagement and disengagement of the retarder shaft (24) to and from the driving source (1, 4, 6, 10). A tachogenerator (82) is arranged to measure the revolutions of the retarder shaft (24) in order to, with knowledge about the capacity of the oil pump (42), determined when the retarder oil circuit (56) is filled with retarder oil (18), and a control de¬ vice (22) which is engaged to a tachogenerator (82) and to the clutch device (34), the control device (22) of which receives signals from the tachogenerator (82) regarding the revolutions of the retarder shaft (24) and which emits signals to the clutch device (34) to disconnect the retarder shaft (24) from the driving source when the retarder oil circuit (56) is filled with re- tarder oil (18). The invention also pertains to a vehicle (1), comprising such a retarder (2) and a method for engagement and disengagement of a retarder (2).

The invention relates to a method for control of braking by means of at least one supplementary brake (290-296) of a motor vehicle (100; 110), comprising the step of choosing (s410) supplementary braking action by means of a control device (270). The method comprises the steps of continuously determining (s420) a total available supplementary brake torque (Mtot) and determining (s430) by means of said control device (270) a chosen proportion (Mshare) of said total available supplementary brake torque (Mtot). The method comprises also the steps of determining (s440) a supplementary brake torque (Mtot*) corresponding to said chosen proportion (Mshare) and of apportioning (s450) said supplementary brake torque determined (Mtot*) to at least one chosen supplementary brake (290-296) in order to achieve the chosen supplementary braking action. The invention relates also to a computer programme product comprising programme code (P) for a computer (200; 210) for implementing a method according to the invention. The invention relates also to a device for control of braking by means of at least one supplementary brake (290-296) of a motor vehicle (100; 110), and to a motor vehicle (100; 110) equipped with the device.
