Abstract:
In a single-use container (10) for mixing and dispensing two components contained therein and having an internal membrane (20) which divides the container into two chambers (30, 31) in which the separated components are located, the membrane (20) must be mounted on a flange which projects beyond the wall of the container (10). The flange is unsightly and increases the volume and hence the cost of the surrounding wrapping. This drawback is avoided in a container (10) designed as a pressure pack with dispensing valve (12), in which the membrane (20) is sealingly fastened to the interior of the container (10) and is designed so that the membrane (20) is opened by a force generated by a pressure differential induced between the chambers (30, 31).
Abstract:
The device for the transportation of flowing materials in pulverulent, granular, pasty, granulated or lump form in a tube (14) comprises a coaxial endless screw (16) which is rotatable in the forward or reverse direction and means for driving said screw. The means enable to obtain a feed motion without rotation and a rearward motion with a regular rotation of the endless screw (16) so that the material to be transported (20) remains axially stationary (A) during the rearward motion. Owing to the very dense column of material to be transported the bearings may be suppressed; if they are provided, they will have to be arranged outside the conveying stock (20). The endless screw (16) is designed as a single piece screw and the distance between the screw (16) and the tube (14) is slightly bigger than the average size of the grains or lumps of material to be conveyed. The device is preferably used for the supply of pneumatic or hydraulic conveyers.
Abstract:
A ceramic filter body provided with pores remedies the lack of substantially stable profiled bodies resisting to high temperatures and thermal shocks to filter metals, particularly iron and iron alloys. Said filter body has a temperature constancy of 1600 C as well as a linear expansion coefficient from 3 to 7 x 10 / C and is comprised of spherical grains of a refractory material homogeneously distributed and of a refractory binder which binds to the spherical grains by chemical reaction at a high temperature. A method for manufacturing such a filter body provides the mixing of grains of a refractory material with a pulverulent binder, the shaping thereof into a body provided with pores and the chemical transformation thereof while preserving the homogenous structure from a macroscopic point of view and the formation of new fireproof compounds by thermal treatment in the contact surface area.
Abstract:
A freight container for air transport has a supporting frame arranged on a floor board. The supporting frame has a profile projecting above the floor board and a cross-section connected thereto. Planking is mounted on studs on the profile and forms at least a partial shelf together with the supporting frame. The profiles are connected at least partly to junction points by sheet steel corner plates. The sheet steel corner plates (30) are flat and are fastened to studs (27) on the profiles (12 to 16, 18). The studs (27) are flush with the profile (29) and prolong the latter over a hollow profile type section of the profile.
Abstract:
An extruded superconductor (1) comprises a conductor core composed of thin metal filaments, for example of niobium-titanium or niobium-tin, and a high-purity aluminium sheath (2) which acts as a stabilizer. A marked reduction in the electrical conductivity perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the conductor is achieved by means of structures (3) in the form of cross-sectionally distributed layers, ribbon-like strips or closely aligned longitudinal single filaments or fibres or bundles of fibres made of a material of low conductivity embedded coaxially in the aluminium sheath. The layers of low conductivity material embedded coaxially in the aluminium sheath may be closed concentric circular sheaths surrounding the conductor core, at a distance from the core and from one another or ribbon-like strips made of the low conductivity material arranged in a star-shaped configuration about the conductor core.
Abstract:
In processes for reducing the dissolved inorganic and organic impurities in aqueous lyes in the Bayer process for the manufacture of aluminium hydroxide, the additives used entail cost-intensive process controls and increased lye consumption, thereby raising production costs without necessarily ensuring product quality. These drawbacks may be eliminated by subjecting the impure lye Pv to electrodialysis using at least one anion-permeable membrane and/or one cation-permeable membrane and at least one bipolar water-dissociating membrane with formation of an alkaline lye component Pr which is added to the circulating lye in the Bayer process, and an impurity component V which is removed from the process and discarded.
Abstract:
The car body is comprised of a roof (2, 40), a floor (7, 41, 42) as well as side walls (5) connected by upper sections (4) to the roof and by lower sections (6) to the floor. The side wall elements (5) secured between lugs (14, 15) of the upper sections (4) and lower sections (6) and of profiled parts (16) are adhered to the lugs (14, 15) and preferably also to the profiled parts (16). The connection of the upper sections (4) with the roof (2, 40) and of the lower sections (6) with the floor (41, 42) are made in a similar way with glue or by assembly (3). The car body may be mounted without drilling holes for rivets or the like, and by using special profiled parts (17) large fabrication tolerances for the elements (5, 40, 41, 42) will be compensated.

A gas nozzle device for a fluidized bed reactor used for degassing molten metal with a rinsing gas eliminates leaks of metal out oof the reactor through the area of the tip of the nozzle and leaks of gas in the area of the rinsing gas feeding line.
Abstract:
A composite piece made up of extruded profile components firmly attached to one another on the face, of aluminium or aluminium alloy. At least two profile components (10, 30; 50, 50a) grip into one another, preferably without gap, in true alignment, with shaped hook elements (24, 34, 54, 67) and are in each case fitted with a groove (37, 38; 60, 64) which in coupled position of the profile components, delimit a space for receiving a spreading component (41). The composite piece is used particularly as a traffic supportable tailboard for utility vehicle platforms.
Abstract:
Deposition of wear resistant layers of strongly allied ferrous filler metal on a base material of iron alloy containing carbon and manganese, said deposition being carried out according to the carbon or manganese content of the base material with or without buffer at low current intensities. The current intensity/filler wire diameter ratio is comprised between 70 and 80 for the wear layer and between 120 and 160 for the buffer. Alloys having a content of 3 to 4 % of Si, 1.5 to 2 % of Mn and C >= 5 % are excellent as filler metals; the alloy containing 5.5 % C, 12.5 % Cr, 2.0 % Mn, 4.0 % Si, 8.0 % Mo, 8.0 % Nb, 2.0 % W, 1.0 % V and 57.0 % Fe is preferred.
