Abstract:
The present invention relates to gas turbine comprising a combustion system with several burners, a conduit system with a fuel manifold for providing the burners with liquid fuel and a system for aerating the liquid fuel with gas. According to the invention said system for aerating the liquid fuel (53) with gas (54) is located upstream to said fuel manifold (51).
Abstract:
A connector seal comprises a ring (14) adapted to be a push fit in a hole (2), one or more circumferentially extending inwardly directed ribs (7) within the ring adapted to engage and seal with the outer surface (5) of a pipe (3) inserted through the ring, and a collar (6) around the outside of the ring adapted to abut against a wall (1) in which the hole (2) is formed as the ring is inserted therein, the collar (6) being composed of a harder, less flexible material that the ring (4) and ribs (7). Additionally, a radially inwardly directed annular flange (8) on the ring (4) at its leading end as inserted into the hole (2), the flange serving as a stop against which the end of the pipe can abut. Preferably, this stop flange (8) is also composed of a harder material than the ring (4) and ribs (7) and may be the same material as the collar (6).
Abstract:
A shield for protection against harmful radiation transmitted towards or emitted from a mobile phone (15) or a wireless telephone is configured as a laminate (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d), which consists of at least one plastic layer (3a), such as a layer of ABS plastic, PVC or resin plastic. On the outside of the plastic layer there is at least one layer of metal (3a, 3b, 3c), preferably three layers which are cu, zn and cr. The shield (1, 11) can be mounted on the antenna (14) of the mobile phone (15) or a wireless telephone. It can be configured in two parts (2, 3), where the one part (2) consists of a plate part (2) with a snap-lock (4) for clipping on to a mobile phone (15), in that the outwardly-extending plate part has longitudinal grooves (7a, 7b) which are arranged to co-operate with the edge parts (8a, 8b) of a second plate part (3). In a preferred embodiment, the shield is configured as one part (11) which consists of a plate part (12) with arcuate dimensions, corresponding to the outer dimensions of an antenna (14) on a mobile phone (15) or wireless telephone, in that from the one end of the plate part, two projecting lobes (13a, 13b) are provided which can grip around the antenna (14). With the invention, a shield is provided, which gives a reduction in the GSM 900 band, expressed in SAR (specific absorption rate), of approx. 97 % compared with the radiation, which is measured without a shield according to the invention.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel synthesis routes for preparation of thiodigalactosides of the general formula (12). The method comprises the use of a 3-azido-galactosyl thiouronium salt derivative, which is activated to the corresponding thiol in situ, which in turn is directly reacted with a 3-azido-galactosyl bromide resulting in the 3,3'-di-azido-thio-di-galactoside before the thiol has a chance to reduce the azido 10 group. Hence, in situ formation of the 3-azido-galactosyl thiol from the thiouronium salt is essential in the synthesis procedure, because any other method that generate the thiol separately results in extensive unwanted azide reduction.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a polymer composition with improved electrical properties and to a use thereof preferably in electrical devices, as well as to a cable surrounded by at least one layer comprising the polymer composition.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel compounds, the use of said compounds as a medicament as well as for the manufacture of a medicament for treatment of disorders relating to the binding of galectin to receptors in a mammal. Said galectin is preferably a galectin 3.
Abstract:
In an arrangement a three-phase brushless direct-current motor (MOT) is utilized for controlling a weapon sight (VP), using electrical signals. The arrangement comprises an analogue or digital motor amplifier for sinusoidal commutation, to which the electrical signals can be fed. The windings or phases of the motor are connected to individual pairs of drive transistors incorporated in a transistor bridge. The motor amplifier is arranged to generate pulse-width-modulated signals (PWM-R, PWM-S and PWM-T) and using these to control the drive transistors in the bridge and thereby cause generation of the phase drive currents in the motor's windings. Galvanically-isolated circuits (HE, HS and HE', HS' respectively) effect current feedback from the motor to the inpuT of the amplifier.
