Abstract:
Methods and products to deliver at least a portion of an advertisement to a viewer at normal playback speeds after receiving a command from the viewer to fast-forward through an advertisement faster than normal playback speeds is described. In certain embodiments, the invention delivers a portion of the advertisement to be played at normal playback speeds to the viewer: and delivers the remaining portion of the advertisement to be played at a playback speed that is faster than the specified playback speed so that the combination of the portions delivered at normal and faster playback speeds is delivered to the user at the specified playback speed. In some other embodiments, the invention delivers at least a portion of the first advertisement to the viewer at normal playback speeds; and delivers one or more other advertisements to the viewer simultaneously with the first advertisement with the audio information muted based on the specified playback speed.
Abstract:
In accordance with the present invention, a media content management application that allows a user to create and customize a version of media content based on semantic criteria is provided. Based on semantic criteria, the media content management application may use editing/assembly software packages to construct a version of the media content for an intended audience. In addition, the media content management application allows a user to generate the version of media content suitable for a website and allows a user to receive feedback from the website. Based on the feedback from the website, the media content management application may select one version of the media content from a plurality of content, adjust the placement of the media content prior to broadcasting the media content, and/or customize the media content prior to broadcasting the media content.
Abstract:
A system and method for seamless switching and concatenation (Fig. 2) of compressed audio streams in Internet, Digital Radio, Digital Television, DVD, storage, and other applications. The system includes a switch (38) allowing switching between streams at pre-determined points without the introduction of audible artifacts. It can be used for the personalization messages such as advertisements, news systems and other.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for the optimized allocation of content on a content distribution system according to a content distribution plan are described. In some embodiments, a management system may be configured to generate an optimized schedule for content distribution, such as an advertising campaign. For a television distribution schedule, an impressions forecast may be generated based on the available inventory and historical audience measurement information, such as television ratings for a television advertising campaign. An optimized schedule may be generated based on the impressions forecast and content may be distributed according to the optimized schedule. Measurement information relating to the distribution according to the optimized schedule may be analyzed and used to generate a re-optimized schedule, for example, that may be used to schedule the advertising campaign on a subsequent day.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for managing content presentation information associated with the distribution of content assets to content presentation devices are generally described. A presentation information management system may be configured to verify whether a content asset was presented via a content presentation device according to a distribution plan. In some embodiments, the management system may be configured to generate a content identifier for each content asset accessed by the management system and to receive presentation information when the content asset is presented through a content presentation device. The content identifier may be configured to allow the content asset to be recognized within the management system, such as at the content presentation device, when the content asset is presented at the content presentation device.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and computer-readable storage media for optimizing transactions in a household addressable media network are described. Transaction information associated with past transactions involving the sale of inventory for the media network, such as the sale of an audience and/or segments of the audience. Potential transaction information may be configured to indicate projected conditions for a future sale media network inventory for certain media content of a potential purchaser, such as a media content provider. An example media content provider is an advertiser seeking to purchase an audience or segments thereof for broadcast of an advertisement. A model for selling the inventory may be configured based on the past information. A simulated selling of the inventory and/or segments thereof may be performed to generate potential sales information that may be used to optimize future inventory sales. An illustrative simulation model may include an agent-based computational economics (ACE) model.
Abstract:
Systems and procedures which allow for the placement of advertisements in an optimized manner are presented. Systems may be provided which may be configured to optimize a media plan (either automatically or manually, or a combinations of both) using demographic vectors, and may display the optimization results in a quantifiable manner using terms and numbers.
Abstract:
Systems which allow for the insertion of targeted advertisements or other messages into programming content, e.g., using Digital Video Recording (DVR) technology are disclosed. Systems use storage to pre-load advertisements, record content with commercials breaks, and merge the advertisements into the recorded content in the background, so that they are available when the content is viewed in time-shifted mode.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for presenting video asset information to a viewer to assist the view in selecting a video asset for viewing is described. The video assets can be available from a plurality of different video asset sources, such as VOD (video on demand), PVR (personal video recorders) and broadcast (including over the air, cable, and satellite). Images from the video assets are displayed in a uniform manner, along with information about the video assets. The information includes data in a metadata category, wherein metadata can be received from the video asset, external sources, or manually input by a user. The view can select one of the video assets for viewing, but also can navigate using metadata categories such as genre, actors, director, and the like. This allows a much easier and natural navigating and selection process for viewers.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and computer-readable storage media for allocating content elements addressed for a content opportunity in a transport stream within a household-addressable media network. A content opportunity may include an advertising slot in a programming stream. The content elements may include advertising content configured to be run during the advertising slot. The advertising slot may be transmitted in a programming stream providing television programming and the advertising content may be provided in a commercial feed. The media network may be configured to transmit various content formats, such as high definition (HD), standard definition (SD), and variations thereof. Systems may be configured to allocate the highest profile corresponding content elements if there is sufficient resources available. If sufficient resources are not available, the system may allocate lower profile versions of the content elements.
