Abstract:
The present invention relates to a WHS item of clothing for a baby, said WHS item of clothing being configured for detection of vital parameters of the baby, said WHS item of clothing comprising a first portion adapted to at least partially cover the torso of the baby and at least one sensor for detecting a vital parameter of the baby. It is characterized in that it comprises at least one second portion extending from the first portion, said second portion being adapted to at least partially cover one arm of the baby, said at least one second portion having a section that can be stretched in at least one direction, said stretchable section being designed to remain in a fixed position of said at least one arm; said at least one sensor being coupled in said stretchable section to be properly positioned relative to the baby's arm, to provide an electrical output signal indicative of the vita parameter being detected; a connecting cable operably connected with said at least one sensor to transmit said electrical signal to a data collection unit.
Abstract:
A garment for accommodating medical devices comprises garment panel detachably coupled to a garment body. The garment panel contains a concealed pocket suitable for accommodating one or more medical devices. The garment panel is detachable from the garment body at predetermined attachment zones which provide access to device sites and permit complete detachment of the garment panel. The panel may also be fixed to the garment body at anchor zones, while allowing decoupling at attachment zones. The pocket may contain an inner compartment for receiving a supplemental material such as an absorbing or deodorizing material. Apertures to the inner compartment allow the supplemental material to proximate device sites on the patient body or medical apparatus stroed in the pocket. Stabilizers positioned on the interior of the garment may be used to secure medical monitor wires, tubing, or other devices. The garment is intended for wear by children and adults.
Abstract:
A gown for premature infants and the like. The gown comprises front and back sections which together envelop the entire body and upper arms of an infant when worn. The rear section is a single piece and the front section comprises a pair of complementary portions. The front and rear sections are permanently connected at a perimeter area of permanent connection proximate the armpits, and remaining perimeter areas can be temporarily connected so that the front body portions are selectively and completely severable from the rear section except at the perimeter area of permanent connection. Tie straps are provided for temporarily connecting front body panel portions to one another.
Abstract:
A neonatal swaddler (10) comprises front and rear flexible panels (18, 12) arranged as a bag or sleeve into which a newborn baby's torso and limbs can be inserted so that the baby's head (46) projects from the mouth of the bag or one end (64) of the sleeve and the front and rear panels cover the front and rear, respectively, of the baby's torso and limbs. The front panel is formed with perforations (74) or the like to facilitate access to the baby in the region of its umbilical stump, and/or the bag or sleeve is formed adjacent each of its sides with perforations (76) or the like to facilitate access to the baby's arms. Access can therefore be obtained to the baby's umbilical stump and arms without substantially weakening the remainder of the swaddler, and with reduced risk of injury to the baby.

Abstract:
A night garment for adults and older children, that comprises a pair of trousers (3), which are sewn to a upper body clothing (1) along its full circumference, or is in one piece. The upper body clothing (1) is closeble by means of closing means (8) along an opening (9), which extends along the arm (2) of one side of the garment and the shoulder portion (7) of the same side.
Abstract:
A garment (20) for infants comprises a comfort component (22) serving as a base, a plurality of signal transmission paths (34) integrated within the comfort component; and at least one interface (44) that provides a transmission path between the information infrastructure component and an external device. In addition, the garment has the means to ensure a snug fit for the baby so that sensors stay in place to minimize the risk of false alarms while the baby is safe and comfortable. This feature also helps to extend the usable life of the garment as the baby grows.
Abstract:
There is provided a medical garment for facilitating torso access for medical treatment, the garment comprising: a garment body defining a neckline and sleeves; and a frontward, substantially midline garment panel, wherein: the garment panel is non-detachably fastened to the garment body at a non-detachable fastening point; the garment panel is releasably fastenable to the garment body by way of a plurality of releasable fasteners being located at a periphery of the garment panel; and the garment body is upper openable from the neckline to each respective sleeve and comprising upper openable releasable fasteners configured for selectively opening and closing the upper of the garment.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a thermal shield 1 for at least partly surrounding a newborn infant by the shield 1 to protect it from undesired cooling or heating. The shield 1 comprises a first layer 3 and a second layer 4 both of a transparent material, which layers 3,4 are joined so that there is at least one air containing pocket 5 between the layers 3,4. When the thermal shield 1 is in use, the mutual arrangement of the first and second layers 3,4 allows the at least one pocket to be deformable to an amount necessary for establishment of acoustic contact between the skin of the infant 10 and an acoustic transducer 11 placed on an outer surface of the second layer 4. In some embodiments of the thermal shield, the at least one air containg pocket 5 is air tight, and acoustic contact can be established over an area of at least 1 cm 2 . In other embodiments, there is at least one open passage 13 from the surroundings and into each of the at least one air pocket 5 between the first and second layers 3,4, and the compliance of the first layer 3 is higher than the complicance of the second layer 4 so that when an infant is placed in the shield 1, the first layer 3 clings around the infant while the second layer 4 deforms to a lesser extent than the first layer 3 so that air from the surroundings flows into the at least one air pocket 5 via the open passage 13.
Abstract:
An infant's sleep blanket/garment for use with medical monitoring devices, which is offered as either a sleep sack or a sleep shirt, depending on the age of the infant, with the sleep sack further presented with no arm holes and having snugging straps for newborns or with arm holes and sleeves for older infants. An openable monitor cable sheath located inside of the sleeper allows for bundling medical monitoring device cables and IV tubes and enclosing them within the sheath to prevent irritation to the infant and reduce the possibility of the infant becoming entangled in the cables and tubes. Additionally, the upper shoulder and sleeve seams are openable to allow for the installation, maintenance and removal of IV tubes without removing the garment from the infant. Thermometers incorporated into the body of the garment and an optional sleep cap aid in monitoring the infant's temperature as he sleeps.
Abstract:
The garment is intended for a new-born and especially a premature child and surrounds at least the trunk. Its inside is made of material tolerated by the skin and is impermeable to water vapour, at least from the inside outwards. The garment leaves the child's face free and, in those regions where a point on or part of the body remains open, has sealing means to seal the garment against the body. The garment is heat-insulating and intended for use inside and outside the incubator.
