Abstract: The invention comprises a broom that can be detachably coupled to a dustpan for ergonomic and efficient removal of materials in the dustpan into a collection receptacle simply by using one hand to lift the combination, without the need to bend over to pick up the dustpan. In an exemplary embodiment, the dustpan comprises a pair of mushroom head connectors that are received by corresponding keyhole shaped apertures in the broom.

Abstract: This invention describes a dustpan comprising a light source that is designed to illuminate a floor or other flat work surface in front of the dustpan for the purpose of locating and collecting small hard to see objects.
