Abstract:
A medical device may include a shaft extending between a proximal end and a distal end. The shaft may include a lumen therein. The medical device may include a handle coupled to the proximal end of the shaft and may include a mode selector. The mode selector may be adapted to transition between a first mode and a second mode of the medical device. The medical device may further include a compressed fluid source. In the first mode, the compressed fluid source may be fluidly coupled with the shaft so as to impart a negative pressure in at least a portion of the lumen. In the second mode, the compressed fluid source may be fluidly coupled with the shaft so as to impart a positive pressure in the at least a portion of the lumen.

Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a device for removing adipose tissue with a needle(s), comprising a needle hub that comprises at least one needle that contains between 1-1000 holes around the diameter of the needle barrel which allows passage of adipose tissue and other lipoaspirate, and an adipose tissue collection and purification device comprising a plurality of self contained syringes wherein each of the syringes comprises an inner syringe included within an outer syringe and wherein a filter is attached inside the outer syringe barrel, the filter having a mesh pore size between 30 micro meters and 1000 micro meters, the device being attached to a needle hub. The present invention furhter provides a system for closed adipose tissue harvesting, purficiation, and grafting, comrpising an adipose tissue removal component, a collection and purification component, and a grafting component. Methods of using the devices or system are also disclosed.
Abstract:
In most rhinoplasty cases surgeon should control whether different parts of Applicant's nose is formed well and refine disfigurements. Since surgeons have no instrument to measure changes during the surgery, they have to use their bare eye to decide whether to modify the configuration or not, which can cause the result to be different from what is contemplated by applicant. I designed 5 custom control molds to control correctness of different operation steps during the surgery to minimize surgeon's errors. Using these control molds enables surgeon to decide whether to keep modifying different part of nose in order to achieve best result.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An anchor (80) for a suture assembly, the anchor comprising: a rigid portion (88) having a leading end; a suture engager (89) configured to engage a central portion of a length of suture at a distance from the leading end; and at least two resilient portions (84) projecting laterally from the rigid portion, the at least two resilient portions configured to be displaceable towards a central longitudinal axis (L) of the anchor. A suture assembly, the suture comprising: a single length of suture; a first barbed portion having a first plurality of barbs formed thereon; a second barbed portion having a second plurality of barbs formed thereon, wherein the first plurality of barbs and second plurality of barbs are inclined towards a central portion of the length of suture.
Abstract:
A method for surgical wound closure includes providing a pre-stressed elastomeric membrane having an aperture enclosed by at least a portion of the membrane; adhering the pre-stressed membrane to dermal tissue of a patient at a surgical procedure site; creating an incision through dermal tissue of a patient at the surgical procedure site at a location defined at least in part by the aperture of the membrane; and contracting the membrane and adhered dermal tissue, such that the aperture and incision created during the surgical procedure are at least partially closed. A kit of parts for adhered contractional wound closure including an unstressed elastomeric membrane, at least one retaining frame configured to apply a stressing force for pre-stressing the membrane, and an adhesive configured to attach the pre-stressed elastomeric membrane to dermal tissue of a patient, is also disclosed herein.
Abstract:
A system for determining components of matter removed from a body includes a container for receiving the matter, a device for weighing the container and the matter therein, an instrument for obtaining information relating to at least one aspect of the matter, and a processor programmed to determine the components of the matter based in part on a weight of the matter determined by said device and the information relating to the at least one aspect of the matter obtained by said instrument. A display includes a screen for displaying information relating to the matter provided by said processor. The information may include a height and/or a color of the matter among other aspects. An insert containing an absorbent material may be utilized to separate fat cells from a fluid when liposuction is used to remove the matter. The insert may be porous allowing fluid to enter for absorption.
