    摘要: A catheter for delivering a self-expanding stent-graft prosthesis includes an inner shaft component having a distal segment over which the stent-graft prosthesis is loaded in a compressed delivery configuration. The distal segment has a covering that is intimately disposed thereover. The covering forms a raised outer surface on the distal segment and includes a plurality of protrusions that extend radially outward from the raised outer surface. An outer shaft component is slidingly disposed over the distal segment of the inner shaft component for holding the stent-graft prosthesis in the compressed delivery configuration. In the compressed delivery configuration, the stent-graft prosthesis is disposed over and makes contact with the covering of the distal segment of the inner shaft component such that at least the plurality of protrusions provide sufficient friction to of the covering secure a longitudinal position of the stent-graft prosthesis relative to the inner shaft component.

    摘要: Pressure conditioning systems for supplying insufflation gas to an open-ended body conduit such as a rectal cavity during a transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS) procedure can reduce billowing of walls of the body conduit. A pressure conditioning system can include a pressure storage component, an accumulator, and a flow restrictor. The pressure storage component can include a variable volume reservoir that is biased to a relatively low volume state. The flow restrictor can include insufflation tubing with a restrictor plate having a relatively low diameter orifice. The pressure storage component, accumulator, and flow restrictor can be fluidly connected in various orders in series or as side branches from a gas flow conduit. Despite a pulsed or otherwise discontinuous insufflation gas flow and leakage and absorption from the body conduit, the pressure conditioning system can maintain a constant pressure within the body conduit.

    摘要: An apparatus includes a staple cartridge. The staple cartridge includes staples, a deck, and a buttress. The deck defines a plurality of openings. Each opening of the plurality of openings is associated with a corresponding staple of the plurality of staples, such that each staple is configured to pass through a corresponding opening of the plurality of openings. The buttress is configured to detach from the staple deck in response to the staples being driven through the corresponding openings of the deck. The buttress is resiliently biased to transition from a first configuration while attached to the deck to a second configuration when detached from the deck. The buttress has a first length in the first configuration and a second length in the second configuration. The first length is longer than the second length.

    摘要: A swellable, resilient self-retaining interspinous implant that includes two oppositely disposed retaining members connected by a centrally disposed cross body, the cross body defining a center axis, each retaining member extending in opposite directions relative to each other and perpendicular to the center axis, the implant being dimensioned and configured to fit between two spinous processes of two adjacent vertebrae. In embodiments, the implant has a first configuration of reduced size such that it can be inserted into the patient in a minimally invasive manner. Once inserted to an application point within the patient, the implant expands in size to dynamically maintain the adjacent spinous processes in beneficial alignment. Also provided is a method of making a swellable, resilient interspinous implant as described herein. Also provided is a method of treating a degenerative condition of a spine which includes creating an incision and inserting, through the incision, between two spinous processes of two adjacent vertebrae, a swellable, resilient interspinous implant as described herein.

    摘要: Hemostatic clips, clip appliers, and applications thereof, for ligating bodily organs or tissues in a subject. The clip and clip appliers are configured to structurally conform to various thicknesses of bodily organs or tissues. In exemplary embodiments, the hemostatic clip includes pivotally linked clip arm members, wherein at least one has an outer rigid clip arm member, and an inner clip arm member being resilient and elastic. The clip includes a locking mechanism for locking together the clip arms. The hemostatic clip shifts from a non-stressed fully opened configuration to a stressed locked configuration with compressive forces being applied to a bodily organ or tissue. Inner resilient clip arm member of the clip facilitates structural conformity to various thicknesses of bodily organs or tissues, and provides an efficient, long lasting, and safe tissue ligation.
