Abstract:
A patient repositioning device includes an upper body support (D) and a lower body support (C) which are generally planar and laterally spaced from one another by a spacing element (E). A handle (5) can rotate in the plane of the supports, enabling a care giver to rotate a patient form a sitting to a lying position and then to roll the patient onto their back. Another embodiment provides a patient cradle (12) for cradling a patient from a reclining to a sitting position and vice versa.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a patient transfer system with associated patient support frames, lift carts, lifts, carts, and other accessories for use therewith. The support frames of the present invention as depicted in the exemplary embodiments are designed to: (a) provide rigidity (exoskeleton) to the human body for positioning to provide stability for purposes of transferring, lifting and/or transporting the subject via a mobile device, such as a powered lift device; (b) a male/female coupling for coupling to a tine or other carriage mechanism of a lifting device thereto for the purpose of moving or lifting the subject; and/or (c) be used as a support or frame that will interact with the body as an exoskeleton to aid with the activities of daily living.
Abstract:
Hoisting harness for persons, where the lifting action takes place by a harness consisting of a seat-piece (1) placed between the person's legs, to which seat-piece a rear-piece (3) is connected, which runs against the persons's back and further consists of a front piece (15) which runs against the chest. The front-piece (15) and the rear-piece (3) in their free ends have loops (8, 9, 17, 18) to be applied to a lift means, e.g. a lift hanger (19). In order to avoid that the harness shall not be too tight across the chest during the lifting action and that the harness is adaptable to the size of the person's body, the front-piece (15) and the rear-piece (3) are connected by two connecting bands (11, 12) each band passing one side of the body, whereby the length of the connecting bands (11, 12) between the front-piece and the rear-piece (3) is adjustable.
Abstract:
Means for lifting a handicapped or otherwise disabled person from a sitting position and moving such person to another area, as for a bath, use of a toilet or different seating comprising an open torso support (44) formed of a rigid transverse member (46), and member having an inner wall (50) adapted to fit around the person's abdominal area, and a vertical outer wall (48) from the ends of which reasonably extend planar sidewalls (56), the member also supporting a pair of vertical elements (62) spaced apart from each other and having rearwardly extending arcuate arm supports (64). The torso support (44) may be pivotally (76) attached at the lower rear corners of the planar sidewalls either to the extremities of bifurcated arms (34, 36) of a hydraulically constructed 'cherry picker' lift, or to an overhead lifting cable (88) by two pairs of flexible elements, the lower extension of one pair of which are pivotally attached to the transverse member at such lower rear corners of the planar sidewalls, and the lower extremities of the other pair of flexible elements being attached to the upper ends of the pair of vertical elements.
Abstract:
An apparatus (100) for gait training has a movable base (200) comprising at least one drive unit (210) for moving the movable base, an arm arrangement (300) extending from the movable base, a weight support system (400) to enable a person to be at least partially suspended from above via said arm arrangement, a movement detector to detect a movement of the person and a control unit adapted to control said drive unit(s) in response to a movement of the person detected by the movement detector such that the movable base follows the person in a predetermined distance range and in a predetermined angular range with respect to a movement direction of the person.
Abstract:
An apparatus for assisting a person to move from a seated position on a seat or the like to an upright or standing position and vice versa. The apparatus comprises a base; an actuator arrangement supported by the base and a person support configured for supporting the person to be assisted. The actuator arrangement is configured to be able to move the person support up and down over a range of vertical positions and the actuator arrangement being configured to be able to move the person support back and forth over a range of horizontal positions. The actuator arrangement is configured to move the person support in the vertical range of positions independently of the horizontal position of the person support. The actuator arrangement is configured to move the person support in the horizontal range of positions independently of the vertical position of the person support; The actuator arrangement comprises: a first linear actuator with an elongated shape, the first linear actuator being supported at a first of its two ends by the base and extending substantially vertically from the base, and a second linear actuator with an elongated shape, the second linear actuator being supported by the second of the two ends of the first linear actuator and the second linear actuator extending in a substantially horizontal direction. The person support is supported by the free end of the second linear actuator.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a lift and transport assembly for a disabled person and a method for lifting and transporting a disabled person. One embodiment of the invention relates to a lift and transport assembly, which can be integrated with other devices such as a rolling transportation device, lift, hoist, etc. The assembly comprises a lower section comprising a footrest for supporting the feet of the person and a lower bar;a mid section being connected to the lower bar at a first pivot arrangement; an upper section connected to the mid section at a second pivot arrangement and adapted to the torso and shoulder part of the person and configured to be releasably engaged with a hoist; and means for attaching a backrest for supporting the back of the person. The invention further relates to a mobility device and a method for transporting a disabled person.
