Abstract:
Drug delivery device comprising a cartridge holder adapted to receive and hold a cartridge in a loaded position, the cartridge holder comprising a distal opening adapted to receive the cartridge. The drug delivery device further comprises an expelling assembly adapted to engage and axially displace a piston in a loaded cartridge to thereby expel a dose of drug from the cartridge, and snap locking means acting on a cartridge being inserted in the cartridge holder, the snap locking means having a locked state in which the cartridge is held in the loaded position and an un-locked state in which the cartridge can be removed from the cartridge holder.
Abstract:
A drug delivery device adapted to receive a cartridge and hold it in a mounted position is provided, comprising a housing, an expelling assembly, and a front-loaded cartridge holder assembly adapted to receive and hold a cartridge in a mounted state. The assembly comprises cartridge holding means actuatable between a receiving state and a holding state, as well as a user operated actuation sleeve being rotationally actuatable relative to the housing between a loading state and an operational state, such that the cartridge holding means is actuated from the receiving state to the holding state when the actuation sleeve is actuated from the loading state to the operational state. The actuation sleeve is configured to enclose at least a portion of a mounted cartridge and is provided with inspection means allowing at least a portion of an enclosed cartridge portion to be visually inspected.
Abstract:
A cartridge holder (2), which has a distal end and a proximal end, comprises a coupling housing portion (14) in which a cartridge can be inserted at least partly. The coupling housing portion (14) is configured to be coupled to a part of a drug delivery device. The cartridge holder (2) further comprises a fixing member (21) which is connected with the coupling housing portion (14). The fixing member (21) is moveable radially inwardly to a position in which the fixing member (21) is suitable for securing the cartridge against distal displacement of the cartridge.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is described for the storage and transfer of medical material. In one aspect of the invention a syringe having rodless piston magnetically couples to an actuator that is positioned along the syringe independent of the rod less piston. Another aspect contemplates using medical material in a cartridge that is used to store like an ampoule and transfer like a syringe.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cartridge for receiving a medicament comprising a cylindrical glass body (11) whose the frontal end is closed by a membrane (14) and can be pierced by a cannula (10), and whose rear end is tightly closed by an axially movable piston stopper (12) whereby the movement thereof to the frontal end forces the medicament through the cannula (10) said medicament being maintained inside the glass body (11) and guided axially. In order to integrate the cannula into the glass body, the normally manually performed preoperative step of placing the cannula onto the cartridge is effected as part of an industrial manufacturing process into said manufacturing process, thereby enabling hygiene specifications to be better met and excluding the danger of injury prior to injection. Integration of the cannula into the glass body also facilitates injection. The frontal end of the cartridge is placed on the injection site and only then is the piercing procedure performed. The invention also provides an injection device which is adapted to the shape of said cartridge and is characterized in that successive executions of the piercing procedure involves movement through a defined piercing path and subsequent injection involves moving the piston stopper over an injection path.
Abstract:
A drug delivery assembly comprises a drug delivery device defining a general axis, and a tubular cap. The device comprises a cartridge holder distal portion adapted to receive and mount a drug-filled cartridge, and a body proximal portion comprising a dose setting and dose expelling mechanism. The cartridge holder distal portion comprises a rotational member arranged rotationally relative to the general axis for user-actuation of the cartridge holder distal portion between a receiving state and a holding state. The tubular cap is releasable attachable to the drug delivery device and adapted to circumferentially cover the cartridge holder distal portion as well as at least 50% of the length of the body proximal portion in a mounted state.

Abstract:
Telescopic drive assembly comprising a rotatable threaded drive member, an outer tube assembly arranged axially moveable relative to the drive member but non-rotational relative to a frame and comprising a nut portion in threaded engagement with the drive member, a transmitter tube with an outer thread, and a drive tube in threaded engagement with the transmitter tube outer thread. The outer tube assembly comprises a tube guide member coupled to the nut portion via an Oldham coupling.
Abstract:
Provided is a cassette unit suitable for use with an auto-injector having an electrically powered drive unit. The cassette unit comprises a cassette unit housing defining a housing cavity, a rearward entrance to the cavity and a forward needle projection aperture. The housing cavity may receive a syringe. Axially movable within the barrel of the syringe for forward movement into contact with the syringe plunger, there is a plunger slaving part defining a circumferential wall arranged for frictional sliding relationship with the inner wall of the barrel, a rear drive-receiving face and a front plunger-contacting face. In capping relationship with the rearward entrance of the cassette unit housing there is an end-cap defining a drive rod-receiving opening for receipt of a drive rod for providing forward axial drive to the plunger slaving part. In a pre-use configuration, the plunger slaving part is shaped for releasable engagement with the end-cap.
