Abstract:
A hydraulically actuated capsule for use with a dental syringe is provided. The capsule has a cover that can reciprocally cover, uncover and re-cover the syringe needle. A piston is urged upward in a cylinder to release a latching mechanism on the cover. As the cover is biased towards the uncovered position, once the latching mechanism is released, the cover will automatically slide proximally. After use, the user slides the cover distally and then removes the capsule. A dental syringe with the capsule is also provided.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a medicament delivery device comprising a housing having opposite distal and proximal ends; a medicament container holder releasably connected to said housing; a medicament container arranged inside said medicament container holder; a threaded plunger rod arranged to pass through a first inner wall of the housing and arranged to act on a stopper in the medicament container; a lead screw member coaxially connected to the threaded plunger rod by co-acting first slidably-and-rotatably-locked means; wherein said device further comprises a nut coaxially connected to the threaded plunger rod by a treaded engagement between them, connected to the lead screw member by co- acting non-slidable-and-rotatable means, and connected to the housing by co- acting second slidably-and-rotatably-locked means; a primary dose member coaxially rotatable on the lead screw member when the device is in a non- activated state and connected to the lead screw member by co-acting third slidably-and-rotatably-locked means when the device is in an activated state; a locking member fixedly connected to the housing and releasably connected to the lead screw member by co-acting locking means; a first spring force means arranged between the first inner wall of the housing and the nut, wherein the first spring force means is in a pre-tensioned state when said locking means are engaged and the device is in the non-activated state; a secondary dose member rotatably connected to said primary dose member via a pinion gear; dose setting means connected to the primary dose member by co-acting fourth slidably-and- rotatably-locked means, such that when the device is to be set from the non- activated state to the activated state, the dose setting means are manually manipulated in a pre-determined direction, whereby the locking means are released and the lead screw member is distally moved a pre-determined distance by the first spring force means independent of the size of a dose to be set.
Abstract:
Resettable drive assembly for a drug delivery device is provided for. The resettable drive assembly may comprise a housing (10A, 10B, 10C), a piston rod (20) being rotatable and axially displaceable with respect to the housing between a proximal start position and a distal end position, a drive member (30) for distally displacing the piston rod towards the end position when dispensing a dose, and a stop member (50). The drive member is operable to interact with the piston rod for forming an unlockable first interlock, the first interlock being operable to block proximal movement of the piston rod with respect to the drive member. The stop member is operable to interact with the piston rod for forming an unlockable second interlock, the second interlock being operable to block proximal movement of the piston rod with respect to the housing. When the drive assembly is in a drive mode, the interlocks are locked such that proximal movement of the piston rod from the end position to the start position is prevented. For switching the drive assembly from the drive mode to a reset mode, the piston rod is rotatable with respect to the drive member for unlocking the first interlock and the stop member and the piston rod are rotatable with respect to each other for unlocking the second interlock. When the drive assembly is in the reset mode, the first interlock and the second interlock are unlocked such that proximal movement of the piston rod to the start position is allowed. Further, a drug delivery device and a use of a spring are provided for.
Abstract:
The claimed syringe relates to medical instruments and can be used for a local analgesia. It contains joining body (1) and barrel (2) with gear rod (3) inside which has kinematical connection with driver pawl (5) and stopper pawl (6) of return move of the plunger (3), which are hinged on a rotary handle (7). Fastening unit (11) of double-edged needle (12) is fixed on one of the ends of the barrel which provides for the turn of the needle up to 180 DEG . A set of aspiration elements (16), spring (21) and squeezing bushing (22) permit to execute the aspiration test. The design of the driver unit permits to carry out an analgesia in two modes: discrete dosing, e.g., for the intraligamental analgesia, and free dosing for the conducting or infiltration analgesia.

Optionally, the drug delivery device includes a compartment that retains the cartridge during drug delivery and/or a stopper pushing assembly mounted to the device behind (proximal to) the compartment. In some embodiments, the cartridge may be inserted laterally into the compartment in front of the pushing assembly. For example, the delivery device may include a moving cartridge bay. The cartridge is optionally inserted into the bay and/or the bay and cartridge optionally move into the cartridge compartment. Alternatively or additionally, the cartridge compartment may have a proximal opening into which the cartridge is inserted and/or the pushing assembly may be moved into position after insertion of the cartridge. In some embodiments the cartridge may have a distal seal that is broken by a longitudinal movement.
