Abstract:
A system and method for reducing inflammation of tissue of animal or human, which comprises an energy wave generator (10) has an energy wave's frequency control mode. The energy wave's frequency control mode includes multiple controls for acting the energy wave generator (10) to generate and emit energy waves each with a corresponding energy density. The energy density is calculated by a corresponding base frequency, a sweep bandwidth of the corresponding base frequency, an emission rate and a total time of emission in a duty cycle, so that the energy waves with the corresponding energy densities effecting on the body of animal or human to reduce inflammation of tissue of animal or human.
Abstract:
A device is disclosed that can detect and treat disordered breathing in a patient. The device can include at least one contact adapted to make contact with a portion of an oral cavity of a patient, and a control circuit configured to: in a first mode, detect a presence of disordered breathing in the patient based, at least in part, on a first signal received from the at least one contact; and in a second mode, provide electrical stimulation via the at least one contact to a portion of the patient's upper airway based on a detection of the presence of disordered breathing.
Abstract:
An apparatus for use in treating a neurological disorder of the auditory system, comprising a stimulus generation unit (101) and a somatosensory stimulation unit (102); the stimulus generation unit operable to analyse an audio signal, said audio signal comprising a first component comprising a broadband or white noise component and a second component comprising a plurality of complex tone bursts, and generate a plurality of actuation signals representative of at least one of the first or second component of said audio signal and further to spectrally modify said audio signal to generate a binaural modified audio signal for delivery to a subject; and wherein said somatosensory stimulation unit comprises: an array of stimulators each of which can be independently actuated to apply a somatosensory stimulation to the subject with the modified audio signal, and an input for receiving the plurality of actuation signals from said stimulus generation unit and directing individual actuation signals in a predetermined pattern to individual stimulators in the array, the stimulus generation unit being further configured to introduce a delay between the plurality of actuation signals representative of said audio signal and the binaural modified audio signal.
Abstract:
In some embodiments, an oral care implement includes a housing, a power source, and a plurality of conductive protrusions extending from a surface of the housing. Also disclosed are methods of using the oral care implement, for example, for treating conditions in the oral cavity.
Abstract:
A subject-matter of the present invention is a device for electrostimulation of intraosseous implants, comprising a power supply device (1), generating an alternating or direct current, wherein the power supply device (1) comprises at least an external output A (2) or an external output B (3), aiming at providing an electrical connection with electrode A (4) and electrode B (5), respectively, wherein electrode A (4) is fixed to the patient's body in order to provide an electrical connection, whereas electrode B (5) is arranged in the seat of the intraosseous implant (11).
Abstract:
An apparatus includes multiple first reservoirs and multiple second reservoirs joined with a substrate. Selected ones of the multiple first reservoirs include a reducing agent, and first reservoir surfaces of selected ones of the multiple first reservoirs are proximate to a first substrate surface. Selected ones of the multiple second reservoirs include an oxidizing agent, and second reservoir surfaces of selected ones of the multiple second reservoirs are proximate to the first substrate surface.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An orthodontic tooth adjustment expediting system constituted of: a control circuitry; a power supply; a plurality of lingual electrodes adapted to be juxtaposed with a lingual side of an alveolar bone and associated with a particular one of a plurality of tooth sockets within the alveolar bone; and a plurality of buccal electrodes adapted to be juxtaposed with a buccal side of the alveolar bone and associated with a particular one of the plurality of tooth sockets within the alveolar bone, wherein responsive to the control circuitry and the power supply, a first type current is generated between each of the plurality of lingual electrodes and a lingual electrode associated therewith, or a second type current is generated between each of adjacent ones of the plurality of lingual electrodes and between adjacent ones of the plurality of buccal electrodes, each current controlled separately responsive to the control circuitry.
Abstract:
A delivery system is disclosed having an implant retainer configured to releasably hold an implant unit and maintain the implant unit in a fixation location relative to target tissue in a subject's body during an implantation procedure. A first suture guide portion may be disposed on a first side of the implant retainer and configured to guide a suture needle during the implantation procedure. A second suture guide portion may be disposed on a second side of the implant retainer, opposite the first side, and configured to guide the suture needle after the suture needle exits the first suture guide portion.
