摘要: Biomaterials, such as hydrogels, can be mechanically secured to electrodes of an implantable device, such as electrodes made of noble metals. The hydrogel can be mechanically secured via anchoring features of the electrode. Anchoring features can include apertures, voids, textures, or other patterns created in or on the electrode. The hydrogel can incorporate into the anchoring features to mechanically hold the hydrogel against the electrode. The anchoring features, by being located in or on the electrode, can further increase the surface area of the electrode that is exposed to the hydrogel, which can facilitate the conduction of electrical signals between the electrode and surrounding biological tissue. The substrate supporting the electrode can include additional anchoring features that further assist in mechanically securing the hydrogel.

摘要: An electrostimulation device includes a computer generating an electrostimulation generator control signal and outputting a music signal, a transcutaneous electrostimulation generator, an electronic signal conduit, and an electrode coupler. The generator receives the generator control signal and the music signal, generates a nerve electrostimulation signal dependent upon the generator control signal, and outputs the nerve electrostimulation signal at the stimulation output and the music signal at an audio output. The coupler fits in an ear canal, has a speaker connected to the audio output to output the music signal into the ear canal when worn, and has electrostimulation electrodes conductively connected to the stimulation output through the electronic signal conduit to receive the nerve electrostimulation signal and positioned to contact tissue within the canal to transcutaneously apply the nerve electrostimulation signal thereto. The coupler supplies the nerve electrostimulation signal while music outputs from the speaker.

摘要: The present invention is in the field of induction of lucid dreams by Transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation (TACS). Lucid dreaming refers to a well-documented and scientifically accepted phenomenon that may occur during natural sleep. Lucid dreaming is characterized by awareness of the fact that one is dreaming, an increased chance of control over the events that are occurring within the dream and increased logical or rational thought during the dream.

摘要: Embodiments described herein generally relate to devices and methods for stimulation or recording of accommodation of an eye. Accommodation of an eye naturally occurs through contraction of the ciliary muscle. Embodiments described herein can deliver electrostimulation to the ciliary muscle through a pair of electrodes which deliver power over an area of the sclera which is both positioned above and over an area which is substantially equivalent to the surface area of the ciliary muscle. In further embodiments, electrical impulses produced by the ciliary muscle can be received by one or more electrodes positioned proximate the ciliary muscle. Thus, by embodiments described herein, accommodation of the eye can be reproducibly achieved by external stimulation of the ciliary muscle or measured based on electrical impulses generated by or in conjunction with the ciliary muscle.

摘要: An electrode that functions alone, in clusters or arrays can be used to measure and/or deliver voltages through skin covered with hair by achieving reliable skin contact. In one form, a composite metal electrode has several raised points capable of passing through hair to contact the skin directly between hairs. Electrode points are distributed evenly over a flat circular or curved base to create a composite electrode or cluster in which all electrode points electrically couple to one another and to an output device. In another form of the invention, each electrode point is connected by a separate conductor wire to a selector that evaluates the signal during use and determines which of the electrode points are to be coupled to an output device.
