The invention relates to an annular tool (1) having at least one working region (4) oriented radially outward and having high wear resistance, and a clamping part (5) closer to the axis, in particular a roller bit or cutting ring for rock, in particular for tunnel boring machines, made of a material which is formed from an iron-based alloy as matrix having incorporated hard material particles, wherein the hard material particles are formed from carbide and/or nitride and/or oxide and/or boride, possibly as carbonitride or oxycarbonitride having a boron component of at least one of the elements, or in mixed form of the elements from groups 4 and 5 of the periodic system, and have a density at room temperature of more than 7400 kg/m3, preferably of more than 7600 kg/m3. The invention further relates to methods for the production thereof.

Belastungsoptimiertes Reibrührwerkzeug (300), insbesondere ein Zwei-Schulter-Reibrührschweißwerkzeug (302), dass einen ersten Werkzeugkörper (306) und einen vom ersten Werkzeugkörper (306) mit gegenüber dem Außendurchmesser des ersten Werkzeugkörpers (306) kleinerem Außendurchmesser abstehende Pinausbildung (312) umfasst, wobei der erste Werkzeugkörper (306) und die Pinausbildung (312) integral gebildet sind und wobei die Pinausbildung (312) im Querschnitt eine sich von einer über eine Kreisform gleichmäßigen Verteilung abweichende Materialverteilung (320) aufweist. Weiter werden ein Herstellverfahren für das Reibrührwerkzeug (300) und ein mit dem Reibrührwerkzeug durchführbares Reibrührverfahren angegeben.

Oilfield tools, assemblies and methods of manufacturing same are described comprising a modified-soldered electronic component, wherein the modified-solder includes a high-melting metal matrix and from about 0.1 to about 20 weight percent, based on total weight of the modified solder, of a strength-reinforcing additive dispersed in the metal matrix, the additive comprising a polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane. Methods of using the oilfield tools and assemblies in oilfield operations are also described.

A drill bit or milling tool includes a bit body on which a plurality of cutting elements are disposed. At least some of the plurality of cutting elements include a diamond table and a superabrasive material non-reactive with iron-based materials disposed over at least a portion of an exterior surface of the diamond table. The diamond table is suitable for drilling through a subterranean formation and the non-reactive superabrasive material is suitable for drilling through a casing or casing-associated component comprising an iron-based material and disposed within the subterranean formation. The diamond table may comprise a PDC and the non-reactive superabrasive material may comprise cubic boron nitride.

A system for manufacturing a tool within a laser sintering system includes a chamber enclosing a sinter material. The laser sintering system grows or sinters the tool form the sinter material in response to signals from a controller, which generates the signals as a function of a predetermined tool design. The predetermined tool design includes several sections that are grown separately and are later coupled together.
