Abstract:
The invention relates to a cutting unit for an electric razor and to a cutting head and an electric razor equipped therewith, the cutting unit having at least one outer blade unit (12) and one inner blade unit (10) that are borne driven by a motor to oscillate relative to one another. The inner blade unit (10) has a cutting edge angle that is a maximum of 90° and a corresponding bevel (22) adjacent to the edge (24). Furthermore, at least one protector element (10) having an outer contour that is rounded at least in areas and that faces the outer blade unit (12) is in front of the edge (24) for the inner blade unit and can be moved sliding along the bevel (22) into a position that is set back relative to the edge (24).
Abstract:
A carrier is adapted for use in a shaving device, and comprises at least one pair (15) of a cutting element (8) and a hair lifting element (14). At least one of the elements (8, 14) of the pair (15) has a bent shape, wherein the bent element (8, 14) is provided with at least two bending lines (17, 18). The bent shape of the at least one of the elements (8, 14) is such that in a functional arrangement of the elements (8, 14) with respect to each other, edge portions (11, 16) of the elements (8, 14) are located at a distance with respect to each other. Thus, a space (22) is present between the elements (8, 14) at the side of their edge portions (11, 16), which can be used for receiving cut-off hair stubbles which might otherwise hinder a movement of the hair lifting element (14).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a bottom cutter assembly for a dry shaver, a dry shaving apparatus and a shaving method, wherein the bottom cutter assembly (10) has a top cutter (12) with holes and a bottom cutter assembly that can be driven by a motor to oscillate to each other. The bottom cutter assembly (10) has at least one first bottom cutter (14) and a second bottom cutter (22; 32; 34; 36; 38; 40; 42) that precedes the first bottom cutter (14) in the direction of the oscillating movement, which second cutter is designed to exert a tensile force on a hair (18) extending into the hole (20) of the top cutter (12) in order to pinch the hair between the second bottom cutter (22; 32; 34; 36; 38; 40; 42) and the top cutter (12).
Abstract:
A cutting device (50, 70) is provided for cutting material located between the cutting device and another cutting member (34) in a handpiece. The cutting device (50, 70) may take any number of forms. One typical form is a substantially triangular prism having a number of faces (53, 52, 51, 54) inclined to each other in which one face (53) is the cutting face oriented towards the other cutting member (34). Another form comprises a metal blade or metal sliver in which only cutting face (53) is exposed, the remaining parts of this form of the blade being covered with or embedded in plastics material or friction reducing material. Another form of the cutting device (70) is provided with the distal of free ends of arms (76) having a bend (78) which arms (76) connect the cutting device to a body ring (72) in such a manner as to provide a radially outwardly directed bias to the cutting device (50).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cutting element (10), such as used in an electric shaver. The cutting element is made from stainless steel with a hardened surface layer (14) over at least part of its surface, and is characterized, in that the cutting end face (11) of the element comprises a,surface layer of hardened steel at least over its cutting edge (12), the rest of the end face comprising the stainless steel. The cutting element has self-sharpening and wear adjustable characteristics. The invention also relates to a method for producing the cutting element, and to an electric shaver comprising at least one cutting element according to the invention.
