Abstract:
Provided is a system and method of making a door having first and second door skins and an internal frame. The top and bottom surfaces of the frame are coated with an adhesive and the frame is placed on a first door skin. The second door skin is then placed on the opposite surface of the frame. The assembled components are then pressed to bond the first and second door skins to the frame.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A device (10) is disclosed for manufacturing pieces of furniture composed of a number of individual elements (14) assembled by using mounting aids. In order to achieve a simple design and a high flexibility of operation, the manufacturing device (10) has a manufacturing cell (11) linked to first conveyor means (12) for supplying the individual elements (14), to supply means (18, .., 24; 18a, .., 24a; 18b, .., 24b) for supplying the mounting aids, and to second conveyor means (30) for carrying away the finished and assembled pieces of furniture. The manufacturing cell (11) contains stations (25, .., 28) for preparing the individual elements (14) for assembly and an end assembly station (14) for assembling the prepared individual elements (14) into finished pieces of furniture by using the mounting aids. The manufacturing cell (11) also contains at least one freely programmable robot (16, 17) which transports the individual elements (14) back and forth between the various stations (25, .., 29).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a bowed panel (102) comprising a frame (104, 106, 108, 110) and at least one sheet (112, 114), wherein the frame comprises at least one arcuate frame member (104, 106) and the frame is arranged to define an arcuate surface and wherein the at least one sheet is secured to the frame. The invention extends to a bowed cabinet door, drawer front or cabinet panel and a method of making a bowed panel.
Abstract:

Abstract:
The present invention is directed to an automated manufacturing line for production of boxlike structures and components therefor from laminated or solid flat material by V grooving, folding and gluing to form the boxlike structure or component. The automated line includes two or more machines selected from lineal V groovers, continuous cross V groovers, edge folding and gluing machines and multiple scoring machines. Each of the machines is provided with fences and feeders for automatically guiding the workpiece through the automated line. The positioning of fences, feeders, cutting heads and applicators of each of the machines is fully adjustable by providing drive means to position the fence, feeder, cutting head and applicator according to a predetermined position required for the production of a particular boxlike structure or component. The drive means is controled by a programmed controller having the parameters of the boxlike structure or component and having a means to cause the drive means to be activated to position the fence, feeder, cutting head or applicator in the correct position for the production of the desired boxlike structure or component.
Abstract:
The invention relates to furniture bodies which have body sides (1a, 1b) that are linked to each other via mitre surfaces (2) and along mutual corner edges (3). Film hinges (4) consisting of an elastic material are mounted on a source plate (1) along the side (5) of the corner edges (3) to be produced, whereby said side (5) will be outside afterwards. A V-shaped groove (8) that is symmetrical in the cross-section thereof is milled into the side (7) which will be inside afterwards and along the corner edges (3) to be produced until the film hinge (4) is reached. The body sides (1a, 1b) having thereby been separated from one another are then swivelled against each other and around an axis which goes through the film hinge (4) vertically while the V-grooves (8) are closed. The aim of the invention is to be able to mount the desired decoration onto the body sides (1a, 1b) in a particularly simple manner. The outer side (5) of the source plate (1) is imprinted with the decoration, regardless of the film hinges (4), after the film hinges (4) have been mounted.
Abstract:
A furniture frame part or the like is made from a first, planar laminate (13) of wood or other material. This laminate (13) is bent so as to form a shaped member (16) of single curvature. The shaped member (16) is cut into slices (17) in a direction transverse to the generatrices of the curvature, and from these slices (17) a second laminate is made. This second laminate is bent in a direction so as to form another curvature with generatrices extending generally transversely to the first mentioned generatrices, whereby a furniture frame part or another composite body of double curvature may be made.
