Abstract:
A device is provided for plugging a hole in a membrane. The device comprises a cap including a chamber for storing compressed gas, an inflatable bladder connected to the cap and a first conduit via which fluid can escape from a distal side of the membrane whilst the device is inserted into the hole. The device further comprises a first control means for controlling the escaping fluid through the device, a second conduit via which a compressed gas can flow from the chamber into the inflatable bladder and a second control means for controlling the flow of compressed gas from the chamber into the bladder. The bladder is arranged to be inserted at least partially through the hole in the membrane in a non-inflated state and at least partially inflated after it has been inserted therein.
Abstract:
A machine tool arranged to deliver an energy source through a processing head onto a work- piece, wherein; the machine-tool has a clamping mechanism arranged to temporarily receive the processing-head, or another machining or processing-head, to process a work-piece; the processing-head comprising one or more guiding mechanisms arranged to direct the energy source onto a work-piece and a processing-head docking-manifold arranged to have connected thereto one or more media to be, in use, supplied to the processing-head to facilitate processing of the work-piece; wherein the processing-head docking-manifold allows the one or more media to be supplied to the processing-head when the processing-head is connected to the clamping mechanism; and wherein the machine-tool also comprises at least one mechanism arranged to move a supply docking-manifold into and/or out of connection with the processing-head docking-manifold such that when the two manifolds are connected the or each media is supplied to the processing head.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A conditioning agent (typically for use in repairing a flaw in a glazing panel) is contained in a sealed container which is itself disposed internally of a flexible outer walled container. Pressure applied to the outer flexible walled container can cause release of the conditioning agent from the internal conditioning agent container. The conditioning agent preparation may comprise a hygroscopic solvent (such as acetone) combined with one or more primer additives to prime the surface of the glazing panel for repair.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a process for resurfacing a damaged surface of plastic lenses, such as vehicle headlights and taillights to restore the plastic lens surface to its original clarity and transparency. During process, a cleaned damaged surface is preferably orbital sanded with a moistened sand paper disc mounted on a sander for removing visible scratches and yellowing of the moistened damaged surface of the plastic lens. Thereafter, the sanded surface is preferably rotary polished with the slush-resistant polishing composition of the present invention applied on a polishing pad mounted on an polisher for removing any visible score marks that may have been created during the sanding step. Then, the polished surface is preferably rotary finished with the slush-resistant finishing composition of the present invention applied on a finishing pad mounted on a finisher for removing any visible swirls marks that may have been created during the polishing step.
Abstract:
A composite repair system and method for assisting in the repair of a cured composite part in which a damaged portion has been cut out and removed, exposing a plurality of composite plies and their corresponding composite ply edges. The composite repair system may comprise a light source to illuminate the ply edges, an image capturing device to obtain an image of the ply edges, and a computing device for processing the image of the ply edges and creating a map of the ply edges based on the image. The map may be used to manufacture filler plies having peripheral edges shaped to correspond with the composite ply edges for replacing the damaged portion of the composite part.
