The child transportation device (100) may include a child seat (100, 60). The child seat (100, 60) may have a hand basket (1), and a basket-carry handle (12, 107, 64) coupled to the hand basket (1). The body weight measurement device (40) may comprise a weight measurement module (50) that is mechanically coupled to the handle (12, 107, 64). The weight measurement module (50) may comprise a force sensor (101) in the handle (12, 107, 64). The weight measurement module (50) may further comprise a hand grip (110) that is mechanically coupled to the handle (12, 107, 64). The weight measurement module (50) may further comprise a structure (112) that is connected to both the hand grip (110) and the force sensor (101), where the structure (112) transfers force from the hand grip (110) to the force sensor (101). The force sensor (101) may comprise a load cell (102).

Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
Apparatus for securing a child safety seat (118-F, 118-R) and for impact dispersal. A tether system secures the child safety seat to the LATCH anchors in a vehicle. The tether tightening system (410, 1200) attached to a frame (408) tightens the tethers (108, 412) after they are snugged to the vehicle, thereby ensuring the safety seat (118-F, 118-R) is secured. In one embodiment, a screw-type adjustment allows for fully tightening the tethers (108, 412) after they are snugged up with a locking device (122, 414). The child safety seat (118-F, 118-R) is attached to the frame with a hydraulic impact dispersal system (304) connected to a platform (106) that pivots. The force of an impact applies a rotational force (1102) to the platform (106). The energy from the impact is dispersed by the application of the platform's rotational force (1102) to a hydraulic cylinder (426) that has a fluid connection to a dispersal valve (714).
Abstract:
There is disclosed an energy attenuation system for a child safety seat comprising a cushion member mountable to the child safety seat, the cushion member having a rear portion and/or a pair of wing portions to define a space into which the child is to be received, wherein a surface of the rear portion and/or the wing portions of the cushion member comprises a resilient material extending over at least one air cavity formed within the cushion member, such that impact between the surface of the child's head and the resilient material causes the air cavity to be compressed to absorb energy associated with said impact.
Abstract:
Provided is a child restraint system (CRS) with automated installation that provides automated feedback and control of seat installation angle, belt latching and tightening, and confirmation of correct install. The CRS utilizes sensors to monitor CRS base angle relative to level, confirm correct latching of the CRS to its base and then to the vehicle seat, and confirm tightening of the belts to the required tension to be crashworthy. The stepwise operation and confirmation of the installation procedure may be operated via button(s) or other tactical input, and relayed to the user via electronic visual display and/or audible means. All operations will be overseen and processed by an integrated control system, affording minimal user decision or interface. An intelligent latching device which can be adapted for use with an existing CRS is also provided.
Abstract:
A child safety seat includes a seat base assembly, a sled assembly coupled to the seat base assembly, and a seat body assembly slidably coupled to the sled assembly. The sled assembly includes a modular energy absorber that is configured to reduce impact forces on an occupant of the seat body.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an infant car seat (70) that is to be installed in a car seat, comprising: a main body (10) fixed in the car seat; an infant carrier (20) placed in the main body (10); and locking means (30) for locking the infant carrier (20) to the main body (10). The infant carrier (20), which holds an infant therein, can be carried by a user, and locked to the infant car seat (70) installed in the car seat when the user travels with the infant in a car. The infant car seat (70), which is coupled to the outer surface of the infant carrier (20), serves as a bulwark for protecting the infant carrier (20) from a variety of external shocks generated upon the occurrence of a car accident. Therefore, the infant carrier (20) does not need to be prepared for external shocks, thus reducing manufacturing costs as the infant carrier (20) can be manufactured into a simple and lightweight structure.
