A windscreen wiper arm attachment device or adapter for selectively connecting a wiper blade to different wiper arm configurations, the attachment device including a first blade attachment member and at least a second arm attachment member, the first blade attachment member being adapted to be mounted on and/or attached to at least part of a windscreen wiper blade in use and said second arm attachment member adapted to be mounted on and/or attached to said first member. The second arm attachment member including one or more portions configured to attach to and/or interconnect with at least two different types of windscreen wiper arm configurations, where said first member includes a base portion shaped or adapted to connect or be mounted directly onto a wiper blade and/or frame thereof, and a connecting portion configured to pivotally attach and/or connect to said second arm attachment member about a pivot point or pivot axis.

The coupler assembly (44) includes a coupler (46, 246) having a body (60, 260) with a pair of sidewalls (62, 262), a channel (64, 264) defined between the sidewalls and extending substantially parallel thereto. The channel (64, 264) is adapted to cooperatively receive the attachment portion of the wiper arm. A latching mechanism (68, 268) is operatively mounted to the body (60, 260) and movable between an open position spaced from the channel (64, 264) and a closed position disposed over the channel (64, 264) to secure the attachment portion of the wiper arm between the latching mechanism (68, 268) and the body (60, 260) thereby securing the coupler (46, 246) to the attachment portion of the wiper arm.

A wiper device for vehicles is disclosed. The wiper device (1) for vehicles according to the present invention provides compatible standardized parts, such that the wiper device can be applied to various kinds of drive arms having different shapes and sizes. Therefore, the degree of freedom in design for the standardization of products can be increased, thus markedly reducing the production costs. Furthermore, thanks to the standardization of products, the present invention can be easily adapted for mass production. Hence, there are industrial effects in that products can be economically produced, distributed and spread.

The present invention relates to a development in the adapter means providing the connection of the windshield wiper blades (16) to the windshield wiper arm (14) that fixes the wiper blade (16) to the vehicle in the windshield wipers used in vehicles.
