Abstract:
A transporter has a chassis, a left wheel positioned at the bottom of the chassis, a right wheel positioned at the bottom of the chassis, a drive train with a left wheel motor to control the left wheel and a right wheel motor to control the right wheel, and a control system to control the left wheel motor and the right wheel motor to implement self-balancing propulsion of the transporter. The improvement is the utilization of a left primary pulley in a left pulley arm assembly forming a first belt assembly to traverse an obstacle and the utilization of a right primary pulley in a right pulley arm assembly forming a second belt assembly to traverse the obstacle.
Abstract:
In one preferred form there is provided a wheel system (14). The wheel system (14) is mounted to a suitcase (10). The wheel system (14) provides an extension mechanism (18) and a wheel assembly (20). The extension mechanism (18) adapted for moving the wheel (assembly 20) from a retracted condition (22) to an extended condition (24). In the extended condition (24), the wheel assembly (20) provides for rolling transport that is able to accommodate various obstacles and terrain.
Abstract:
Load-carrying apparatus is described comprising a box or frame structure (15) adapted to receive or support a load, means (16, 17) enabling the box or frame structure to be rotated about a horizontal axis relative to the ground on which it rests, and two ground-engaging wheels (1,2) mounted for free rotation on axles (7) connected to the box or frame structure. The axles can themselves swivel to a limited extent relative to the box or frame structure. The axles (7) on which the two wheels rotate are coplanar in a vertical plane when the apparatus rests on a horizontal surface and are preferably inclined at 75° to 105° to one another, so as to provide a substantial camber angle between the two wheels. Each axle (7) is mounted on the box or frame structure (15) in a fashion allowing it to pivot relative thereto about an axis substantially parallel to the ground on which the wheels rest.
Abstract:
A collapsible container comprising a collapsible framework coupled with a collapsible container/covering and a foldable substantially planar member.
Abstract:
An apparatus is disclosed for use on standard or customized wheelchairs for moving the wheelchair and wheelchair occupant up or down a stairway or stairway-like structure (e.g., a curb) with greater confidence and stability to the occupant of the wheelchair and its handler (s). The apparatus includes a motorized assembly that interacts with stair steps when the apparatus and wheelchair are tilted backwardly. The motorized assembly allows the wheelchair to glide or move up or down the steps without experiencing the bumps commonly associated with rolling a wheelchair up or down a set of stairs. The apparatus includes a headrest to provide comfort to the occupant during operation and includes pivoting handlebars to allow the operator of the wheelchair to control the movement of the wheelchair. The apparatus is mountable to, and removable from (when not in use), the wheelchair. The apparatus can be considered as a retrofit.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a refrigerator, comprising an outer cabinet (2) and an inner shelf carriage (3) supporting a plurality of shelves (11) and being movably arranged between a display position, where the shelves are accessible from a front side (8) of the shelf carriage, a refill position, where the shelves are accessible from a rear side of the shelf carriage, and an intermediate position. The refrigerator comprises further a turning guide cooperating with the shelf carriage. The shelf carriage is at least substantially inside of the outer cabinet in the display position and at least substantially outside of and disconnected from the outer cabinet in the refill position and in the intermediate position. The shelf carriage is arranged for turning motion between the intermediate position and the refill position. The turning guide is adapted to guide the turning motion of the shelf carriage between the intermediate position and the refill position.
