Abstract:
In one aspect, the invention broadly consists in a hull component adapted to engage with the blunt bow of a pram hull of the kind frequently used in small boat constructions. In preferred embodiments, the hull component is detachable from the pram hull boat. Another aspect of the invention includes a boat assembly including a boat having a blunt bow, a hull component, and a fastener. Yet another aspect of the invention includes an extension kit for a sailing boat having a pram hull construction, the extension kit comprising a hull component and a mast prolongation to attach to the mast of the sailing boat.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a canoe comprising at least two hull sections and a joint for releasable connection of the first hull section to the second hull section, wherein the joint comprises a first mating means comprising at least one protruding member and at least one corresponding groove, provided in respective one of said hull sections, wherein the joint further comprises a second mating means comprising at least one projecting member and at least one corresponding groove, provided in respective one of said hull sections, wherein said first mating means is positioned at a lower portion of the respective hull sections compared to said second mating means.
Abstract:
Briefly stated, a floating dock system comprises dock members having connector receiving sockets, and connectors which are received in the sockets to secure dock members together or to secure an accessory to the dock member. The connector comprises at least one post and a brace extending from the post. The post has a side-to-side width greater than the side-to-side width of the brace. The post and brace define a flat, generally horizontal top surface to the connector. The post comprises a generally convex midsection connected between a pair of generally falcate end portions. The dock system also includes a supplemental floatation system having a hollow floatation member body securable to the bottom of the dock member. At least one water port formed in the lower surface of the body to place the body interior in communication with water; and an air port is formed in a surface of the body at a position vertically above the at least one water port. The air port is placed in communication with a pump over an air tube. A valve can be positioned in the air tube between the chamber and the pump to selectively place the body interior in communication with the pump (to force air into the body) or to place the body interior in communication with the atmosphere (to allow air to exit the body interior).
Abstract:
A drive-on watercraft lift (10) has removable/replaceable bunks (50, 80). The bunks are configured to define two rails (64,66; 94a,b). In one embodiment, one rail (64) is higher than the other rail (66). This bunk with rails of different heights can be positioned on the body of the lift with either rail facing inwardly, such that the lift can be configured to receive watercraft of different sizes. In a second embodiment, the bunk (80) has a ramp (84) positioned to extend rearwardly from the back of the lift body when the bunk is mounted to the lift body. The bunk ramp (84) provides a sacrificial point of first contact for of a watercraft with the lift and provides for a softer ride for the watercraft onto the lift.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a modular boat consisting of a bow module, one or more modules to make up the mid section and a module for the stern. The modular boat comprising a plurality of modules, characterized as Module A, Module B, Module C, Module D, Module E, and Module F. The modular boat is assembled with Module A forming a bow of the modular boat, any one or more of Modules such as Module A. Module B, Module C, Module D, Module E and Module F in a number of combinations, forming the mid section and stern sections. After use, the modular boat can be disassembled into individual modules and stacked into each other, for transportation and when stored, said modules can be used as furniture components.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A system for connecting a two buoyant marine body in a side to side manner, the system comprising first male and female coupling members fixed to the side of a first and second marine body and Second male and female coupling members which are fixed to the side of a first and second marine body. The first male and female coupling members have an opposing relationship and can be moved from an unengaged condition to a. fully engaged condition by the movement of the first and second floating marine bodies towards each other in a first horizontal direction. The freedom of movement between the male coupling and the female coupling members, at least in the vertical direction, is decreased as they become vertically aligned. Second male and female coupling members will create a rigid coupling to prevent relative movement in at least the vertical direction, as the freedom of movement between the first male and female coupling members is or is proximate to being vertically aligned. The first male coupling member is of a resiliently flexible nature and can take any impact loading between the two bodies. Securing means is included to attach the buoyant marine bodies together in a horizontal direction.
Abstract:
A frame (1) adapted to receive containers, particularly empty plastic beverage containers (2), such as two-liter plastic pop bottles, and adapted to be attached to a dock structure (7). When the dock structure, frame and bottles are in mutual cooperation, the containers provide buoyancy to the dock structure. The containers are preferably screwed into the frame and may be removed.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Planing-type vessel comprising a front portion and a rear portion in the direction of movement of the structure, the front portion comprising two symmetrical skim hulls (18, 20) and the rear portion having a rear contact area (34) comprising at least one skim hull. The invention is characterized in that the front and rear hulls are disposed on either side of the centre of gravity of the structure along the longitudinal axis thereof. The rear contact area is thereby subjected to a load greater than that of the front hulls. The invention is also characterized in that the angle of attack of the hull body in relation to the water surface is positive regardless of speed.
