Die Erfindung betrifft ein mehrlagiges Verbundmaterial (1) für die Herstellung von Kunststoffformteilen, einen Behälter aus einem solchen Verbundmaterial sowie ein Verfahren zur Herstellung des Behälters. Das Verbundmaterial umfasst eine erste strukturgebende selbsttragend steife Außenschicht (2) aus einem Faserverbundwerkstoff, eine zweite strukturgebende Außenschicht (3), eine erste Zwischenschicht (4) aus einem Barrierekunststoff und eine zweite reißfeste Zwischenschicht (5) aus einer dünnen reißfesten Folie sowie wenigstens eine Haftvermittlerschicht (6, 7, 8), wobei die Zwischenschichten (4, 5) und die Haftvermittlerschicht (6, 7, 8) zwischen den strukturgebenden Außenschichten (2, 3) eingebettet sind und mit den strukturgebenden Außenschichten (2, 3) einen Haftverbund bilden und wobei die strukturgebenden Außenschichten (2, 3) jeweils eine Dicke aufweisen, die ein Vielfaches der Dicke jeder der Zwischenschichten (4, 5) oder der Haftvermittlerschicht (6, 7, 8) beträgt.

A package (500) for a medical device having an elongated shaft and a proximal luer fitting includes a one-piece body (520) formed as a single structure via blow molding. The blow-molded one-piece body includes at least a spiral casing (522) formed therein, the spiral casing defining a spiral lumen (526) configured to receive the elongated shaft of the medical device. Webbing (544) is disposed between adjacent curved portions of the spiral casing. The one- piece body formed via blow-molding may also include a removable reversible loading tube (536), a luer retainer (532), a cannula holder (546), one or more slots (544) for attaching an information card thereto, a fastener (552) for clipping the medical device thereto, and a compartment for holding an oxygen scavenger. Further, the one- piece body formed via blow-molding may include non-circular lumens and may be configured to receive multiple medical devices.

A porous balloon (14) or other catheter structure is formed by creating specific size pores (24) for delivering an agent to a body lumen (18). The pores can be created by passing matter or energy through the surface of the catheter structure, as by a laser (35) or a projectile (51). In the case of laser, the catheter structure can be reversed so that the inner surface becomes the outer surface to convert diverging pores into converging pores. In the case of projectiles, a pore size can be achieved by selecting an appropriate size and shaped projectile to obtain the desired characteristic. Alternatively, a material to make the catheter structure can include impurities (29,59) that can be removed once the catheter structure is set, leaving pores where the material formed around the impurities.
