Abstract:
The present invention is related to a method for controlling the delivery of a continuous elongated element in a process and in an apparatus for building tyres for vehicle wheels. The continuous elongated element (11) is guided in a dynamic storage device (10) along a zigzag path defined by a plurality of idle rollers (19, 21), on which the continuous elongated element (11) is partially wound, and is advanced in a feed direction (F1-F8) along the abovementioned path. The method provides for applying torque (Cd) at at least one drive element (29, 31) placed along the abovementioned zigzag path, in a manner such that the continuous elongated element (11) is conducted in the feed direction (F1-F8) and that the longitudinal tension (ad) in the continuous elongated element (11) itself downstream of the drive element (29, 31) is reduced with respect to the longitudinal tension (cm) upstream of the same drive element (29, 31).
Abstract:
A splice is made, between a tail end of first web and a lead end of a second web coiled about an unwind axis, by winding a portion of the first web adjacent the tail end of the first web about a splicing roll mounted for rotation about a splice roll axis oriented substantially parallel to the unwind axis, and then joining the tail end to the lead end by compressing an adhesive between an inside surface of the tail end and an outer surface of the second web. Compression of the adhesive is accomplished by urging the splice roll against the coiled second web while the coiled second web is rotating about the unwind axis in an unwind direction and the splicing roll is rolling about the splice roll axis in a direction opposite to the unwind direction.
Abstract:
In an apparatus and in a process for building tyres, a method for controlling the delivery of a continuous elongated element comprises: arranging a continuous elongated element (11) along a zigzag path defined by a plurality of rollers (19, 31) on which the continuous elongated element is partially wound; advancing the continuous elongated element (11) in a feed direction (F) along the zigzag path; delivering the continuous elongated element in proximity of a work station (7) for building tyres. The longitudinal tension (ad) in the continuous elongated element (11) downstream of first rollers (19) of the plurality of rollers (19, 31) is maintained less than or equal to the longitudinal tension (σu) upstream of the same first rollers (19), by rotating the above-mentioned first rollers (19) in a sense in accordance with the feed direction (F) by means of a rotation imparted to respective first shafts (18) on which the first rollers (19) are mounted.
Abstract:
At the start of web joining, braking power is strengthened to thereby reduce the speed of an old shaft, and, at this time, a pay-out roll is brought into a freely running condition. A second motor is instructed to run at a speed equal to a value of correction for tension plus (a line speed - a pay-out speed), and an accumulator roll unit starts moving simultaneously with the speed reduction of the old shaft. At the time of start of a new shaft, the pay-out roll is accelerated to (the line speed + a catching-up speed) at a constant rate. When the accumulator roll unit reaches a synchronizing position, a catching-up speed is reduced to zero to thereby synchronize with the line speed.
Abstract:
A control arrangement decouples two driven inputs (104, 124) for driven belt web accumulators using gear trains, gear trains with torque feed-forward control or gear trains with torque feed-forward control and velocity feedback control.
