An air-cooled disk brake (1) for industrial applications, comprising a main body designed for connection to an industrial apparatus and comprising two interconnectable circular flanges (110, 120), at least one brake disk (200) being interposed between said flanges (110, 120) and being adapted to rotate about its own axis (xl) and a friction unit (130). Particularly, the friction unit (130) comprises at least one longitudinally sliding friction element (132) which is designed for engagement with the brake disk (200), and a pneumatic actuator (134) that controls the longitudinal movement of the friction element (132) on the brake disk (200). Each flange (110, 120) is composed of at least two mutually joinable, substantially semicircular flange halves.
Abstract:
An improved braking system for a rotatable roll support hub for a roll product of web material is described that is capable of providing a smoother and progressive braking action which uses a less powerful compression spring. This can be achieved by utilizing a friction element that has frustoconical shaped friction surfaces. Specifically, the friction element comprises a frustoconical disc that floats between a similar frustoconical surface that rotates with the roll support hub and an opposite similar frustoconical surface on the pressure disc. Preferably, a rim flange is provided as part of the pressure disc that forces the friction element into wedged engagement on the frustoconical friction surface of the roll support hub. The advantages are achieved for providing a smoother progressive braking action which is applicable to any roll support hub on which a controlled braking force is desirable. Such may include manual tape dispensers or any other roll support hub for any roll of web material which is associated with an automatic, semi-automatic, or manual dispensing or applying apparatus.

An apparatus for dispensing cushioning wrap material includes a box having a dispensing opening in communication with an interior of the box. A roll of interleaf material is rotatably positioned within the box such that a free end of the interleaf material can extend through the dispensing opening, and a roll of expandable sheet material in an unexpanded form is rotatably positioned within the box adjacent the first roll of sheet material such that a free end of the expandable sheet material can extend through the dispensing opening. A tensioning assembly is operably associated with the roll of expandable sheet material to control rotational resistance thereof. The interleaf material and the expandable sheet material can be concurrently pulled out of the box in abutting contact by a user and the rotational resistance of the roll of expandable sheet material causes the expandable sheet material to expand in thickness and length.

The invention relates to a method in the reeling of a paper or board web, in which method the web (W) is wound into a web reel (20, 12) on a primary reeling device (15, 16) and on a secondary reeling device (13, 17, 14). In the method, at the latest when the maximum diameter of the primary reeling device is reached, reeling is changed over to the secondary reeling device (13, 17, 14). In the method, a finished reel (12) is slowed down by means of the secondary reeling device. In the method, the reel that is being finished/the finished reel (12) is slowed down by means of a drive (13) and/or a braking device (23) of the secondary reeling device. The slowing down is completed by means of the braking device (23) when a reeling carriage (14) and the drive (13) of the secondary reeling device move in order to fetch the next reel (20) from the primary reeling device. The invention also relates to a reel-up for reeling a paper or board web. The reel-up includes a primary reeling device (15, 16) and a secondary reeling device (13, 17, 14). The primary reeling device includes a reel spool (15) provided with a centre drive (16). The secondary reeling device includes a reel spool (17), which is provided with a centre drive (13), and a reeling carriage (14). The secondary reeling device further includes a braking device (23) that can be connected to the reel spool (17) to brake a reel that is being finished/a finished reel (12).

The invention relates to a facility for cutting fabric comprising at least one fabric wind-off device (1, 1') for one fabric bolt (7), a conveyor belt (5) for conveying the unwound fabric, and a cutting device (3) which cuts a piece of fabric of a given shape from the length of fabric deposited on the conveyor belt (5). Said conveyor belt (5) extends without interruption from at least that point where the fabric is deposited by the wind-off device (1, 1') to the working area of the cutting device (3). The wind-off device (1, 1') places the length of fabric directly onto the conveyor belt (5) or onto one or more lengths of fabric already deposited on said conveyor belt. The invention further relates to a facility for feeding fabric and a method for cutting fabric on a cutting facility.

A method of using a plastic bag (10’) for point of sale purchase and a web of continuously attached length of plural bags (10) along a supply length by a perforated tear line (2). A seal (3) which runs codirectionally with the tear line (2) forms a closed bottom for each bag (10’), such that when a bag (10) is separated along the tear line (2) from a remainder of the supply, the bag (10’) is enclosed along three of its four edges enabling containment of produce or other items placed therein via the opening at the fourth, and remaining edge of the bag (10’) which is coextensive with the perforation line (2). The perforation tear line (2) cuts entirely through the continuous web supply of bags (10), however, the perforation along one side the bag (10’) is broken, such that the bag 10’) presents an open flap (4) through which contents can be added.
Abstract:
A dispenser is disclosed for retaining and dispensing plastic bags which are wound on a core (52). The dispenser is made of heavy metal wire (10) configured to provide curved tracks in which a core can ride. The dispenser includes a separating tongue (22) which enables a customer to dispense the bags one by one by pulling on the free end of the outermost bag. In order to prevent freewheeling, a braking surface (28a) is provided which engages the roll (50) and retards rotation. A supplemental braking force is provided by spring elements (30, 32) mounted within the tracks (14, 15) which apply a frictional force to the ends of core (52). The spring elements (30, 32) are oriented such that the force applied to the core (52) by the springs (30, 32) rotates when the bags are dispensed, causes the roll (50) to tend to move downwardly into engagement with the braking surface (28a). The spring elements (30, 32) are attached to the dispenser at a point below the braking surface (28a). As a result, the braking force applied by the springs (30, 32) increases as the size of the roll (50) decreases.
