Abstract:
The invention provides novel articles of composite materials having hollow interior channels or passageways, or otherwise being hollowed out, and formulations and methods for their manufacture and uses. These hollow core objects are suitable for a variety of applications in construction, pavements and landscaping, and infrastructure.
Abstract:
A composite structural material formed from aggregate within a matrix, the aggregate being a particulate material where each particle includes at least three radial legs extending outwardly from a central hub.
Abstract:
A product comprises a combination of a plurality of recovered materials, wherein an interaction between biomass and at least one fluid provides the plurality of recovered materials, and at least one precursor material.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition comprising a non-oxide silicon containing component, a water soluble phosphate component, a metal oxide ceramic component, a polysaccharide component and water to 100 %w/w. This composition can be transformed into a cement that holds individual honey comb filter segments of a honey comb filter together.
Abstract:
Concrete reinforcing members having rolled cross sections, and methods for manufacturing and using such reinforcing members in concrete construction are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a concrete reinforcing member is formed from a piece of metal having a first elongate edge portion spaced apart from a second elongate edge portion. The piece of metal further includes an inner surface portion extending between the first and second edge portions, and an outer surface portion extending between the first and second edge portions. In this embodiment, the piece of metal is rolled about a longitudinal axis in an overlapping fashion into coiled or spiral cross-sectional shape.
Abstract:
Ceramic filler compositions of customized shapes (Figures 1-30) according to the present invention, include ceramic and glass-ceramic particles having a customized shape which provides mechanical locking within a resin matrix giving significantly improved fracture toughness performance for a resin/glass or ceramic composite system. The material has particular application as a tooth filling material with significantly improved wear resistance. The wide range of unique-shaped filler particles are produced using wet chemistry methods according to the invention of preparing the ceramic particles for use in a resin matrix composite material. Such composite materials have a very wide application, especially as a dental composite filling material for restoring a tooth.

Abstract:
An earthquake resistant concrete body and earthquake resistant mortar concrete body, enhanced in external pressure, internal pressure and tensile strength after cured or solidified, characterized in that three-dimensional metal reinforcing aggregates are used while ready-mixed concrete and mortar are being produced. Since three-dimensional metal reinforcing aggregates are linked and joined with various aggregates in the concrete body, a concrete lump falling can be prevented even if chipping or cracking is encountered, thereby enabling the construction of a high-strength structure. The three-dimensional reinforcing aggregates can use various metals, alloys and plated metals that are mechanically worked into curved or waved three-dimensional shapes.
