A method for curing cementitious articles includes flowing dry steam and carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) simultaneously into a curing chamber containing a cementitious article. A relative humidity within the curing chamber may be between about 50% and about 70% and a temperature within the curing chamber may be between about 50°C and about 70°C. A dry steam and CO 2 mixture with a CO 2 concentration between 2.5 vol% and 40 vol% is provided in the curing chamber and the cementitious article is cured for a duration between about 4 hours and 16 hours. Cementitious products cured with the method may have a CO 2 uptake of greater than 15 wt% and a mechanical strength at least 10% greater than a cementitious product cured only in dry steam or CO 2 .

The present invention relates to a geopolymer coating composition for coating fiber cement products as well as to the fiber cement products obtainable therewith. More specifically, the present invention relates to a geopolymeric coating composition comprising from about 5 to about 60% by weight of metakaolin and/or fly ash, an alkali metal (M) silicate wherein the molar ratio of SiO 2 versus M 2 O in said alkali metal silicate is between about 1 and about 2, preferably between about 1.2 and about 1.5, and water and wherein the molar ratio of Si versus Al in said coating composition is between about 1 and about 5.5, preferably between about 2.3 and about 5.3. The invention further provides fiber cement products comprising on their outer surface one or more cured layers of said geopolymeric coating composition. The invention further provides processes for producing such fiber cement products. The present invention further relates to various uses of these fiber cement products, in particular as building materials.

A ceramic product which has a very silica content is created by mixing traditional raw materials with a greater than usual proportion (>75%) of ground silica to create a homogenous mixture. The mixture can be extruded, cast, sculpted, or rammed to create a green product of the required shape and dimensions. The green product is then baked at a temperature of less than 700 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-40 minutes to create a finished ceramic product which has between 90-110 parts Ground Silica, 2-4 parts Bentonite and 40-46 parts Sodium Silicate. Processes for creating the ceramic products are disclosed.

The invention is directed towards a process for complete conversion of multiple industrial wastes to sustainable alternatives and usable products resulting in water in-soluble product alike chemical gypsum useful for cement manufacturing used in construction industry. The inventor has utilized industrial wastes from multiple industries together taking into consideration their chemical and physical properties without using any form of energy. The whole process is carried out at ambient temperature under open sky. In described two exemplary processes, the inventor has disclosed process comprising the steps of mechanically mixing metallurgical inert waste of aged dry Jarofix containing crystallized Gypsum with freshly generated Jarosite or dry / wet Red Mud followed by addition of adequate acidic concentration waste water, calcitic wastes, pozzolanic property enhancers & lime treatment. The multiple wastes mix crystallized chemical gypsum mass on drying is used as a whole without any leftover.

A method for preparing composite semi-finished products comprising an epoxy resin and a substrate, such as prepreg, syntactic foams, moulding compounds, synthetic marbles, comprises the steps of: prearranging a container; feeding a base epoxy resin into said container; feeding an anhydride cross-linking agent into said container, said anhydride cross-linking agent arranged to react with said base epoxy resin to form a cross-linked epoxy resin; feeding an amount of Titanium dioxide into said container; feeding an amount of a radically polymerizable unsaturated reagent having at least one vinyl unsaturation into said container; feeding an epoxy resin catalyst into said container, said epoxy resin catalyst configured for catalysing a reaction between said base epoxy resin and said anhydride cross-linking agent, so as to form a composition based on said base epoxy resin within said container, wherein said amount of Titanium dioxide is smaller than 16% by weight with respect to the total weight of said composition. The method also comprises subsequent steps of bringing said composition into contact with a substrate selected between a plurality of reinforcing fibres and a mass of fillers, and heating said composition up to a radical polymerization temperature of said radically polymerizable unsaturated reagent, in such a way that said radical polymerization of said radically polymerizable unsaturated reagent takes place, so as to stabilize said composition in a semi-finished product comprising said substrate and said composition in a gel state.
