Abstract:
The invention provides to thermal management devices constructed from flexible graphite. In one embodiment, the thermal management device includes a wick structure (16) inside a shell (14). In certain preferred embodiments, the wick structure is composed of a mass of expanded graphite. In another embodiment, the shell of the device includes flexible graphite and an optional wick structure. In certain preferred embodiments, the flexible graphite shell is fluid impermeable. The invention further includes methods of making the aforementioned thermal management devices.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel compositions comprising porous materials infused with polymers obtained from metathesis reactions, for example ROMP derived polymers and ADMET derived polymers. The invention further relates to cyclic olefin monomer formulations, including ruthenium or osmium carbene metathesis catalysts, useful for the infusion of porous materials. Also disclosed are methods for preparing the porous materials infused with cyclic olefin resin formulations.
Abstract:
The invention concerns an aqueous polymer dispersion containing: A) a dispersed polymer A which is obtained by radical aqueous emulsion polymerisation in two chronologically successive steps of different monomer compositions and comprises ureido groups; and B) a polyaldehyde compound.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an aqueous composition for repairing and/or sealing of hardened concrete structures, the aqueous composition comprising colloidal silica and polycarboxylate ether.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a construction assembly for interior works, comprising: prefabricated elements, preferably flat prefabricated elements e.g. gypsum fiberboards, cement fiberboards, gypsum wall boards or plaster boards, wherein said prefabricated elements comprise a coating layer formed of at least one skim coat deposited on said prefabricated elements by a coating device; and at least one jointing material, e.g. a sealing coat, joint coat and/or joint pointing coat, which joints adjacent said prefabricated elements to form a substantially plane outer surface comprising the visible surface of saif at least one jointing material and the visible surface of the skim coated prefabricated elements, wherein said at leas one jointing material and said at least one skim coat comprise a mineral filler, a binder and water; and wherein the composition of said at least one jointing material and said at least one skim coat are adapted to each other, whereby said at least one jointing material and said skim coat form, both in a dry state, a substantially homogeneous outer surface having over substantially all its surface at least one of the parameters comprised in the group consisting of color, coloration, reflectance factor and surface water absorbability which is substantially homogeneous over said surface; and whereby said outer surface is ready to be decorated. For instance, said at least one of the parameters differs by no more than 10 %, preferabyl at least 95 %, homogeneity is achieved.
Abstract:
The invention provides water repellent compositions comprising a wax and a styrene (meth)acrylic copolymer comprising at least some active hydrogen; water resistant objects such as gypsum objects comprising the water repellent compositions and processes for forming water resistance objects using the water repellent compositions.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for providing an improved cementitious product (56) which includes improved surface characteristics such as skid resistance, as well as improved structural characteristics such as flexural toughness. The product (56) is provided by the inclusion of skid-resistant particles within an uncured cement product, such that the product eventually cures with the skid-resistant particles fixed at, and adjacent to, the surface, providing improved skid resistance to the cement product and its supporting surface, which could be a pedestrian sidewalk, steps (54), a vehicle roadway, handicapped ramps, or other surfaces where skid resistance is required. The product (56) is desirably softer in structure than traditional concrete structures to allow for desirable wearing by traffic thereon to continuously expose new rubber particles, while still having integral properties which discourage pullout of the particles.
Abstract:
A process for producing copolymer latex by the emulsion polymerization of an aliphatic conjugated diene monomer and another monomer copolymerizable therewith in the presence of a cyclic unsaturated hydrocarbon having one unsaturated bond in the ring, characterized in that the addition of a monomer mixture containing the diene monomer is followed by the addition of another monomer mixture free from the diene monomer, or that part of a chain transfer agent is added after the addition of the monomers. The obtained latex is useful as an adhesive composition, paper coating composition, carpet backing adhesive composition, rock fiber base adhesive composition, gravure paper coating composition, color developing agent composition for pressure-sensitive paper, and the like.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a curable resin composition. More specifically, the present invention relates to a composition comprising methylene malonate functional reactive resin, to its preparation methods, and to the use of the composition in the construction field.
