Abstract:
A method and apparatus for felting three-dimensional objects is disclosed. The method involves wrapping a three-dimensional object with wool, and agitating the encased object within a drum in the presence of heated alkaline solution. The process may be repeated to achieve the desired felt consistency. An apparatus is provided for use with the method. Products produced in accordance with the invention have consistent texture, resiliency, and density throughout, with no visible seams or rough edges.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a textile three-dimensional moulded part, particularly a semi-finished product for a bra, comprising two cup parts and a connection element, said cup parts being made from bonded fibres and the connection element being arranged at least partially between the two cup parts and connecting them. An essential aspect is that the connection element is connected to each of said two cup parts in a bonded manner. The invention also relates to a method for producing a textile three-dimensional moulded part and to a use of polymer fibres for producing a textile three-dimensional moulded part.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing semifinished products with felt effect for hats, starting from a woven or non-woven textile material comprising felting fibres and heat- shrinkable fibres, said material being felted by needle- punching, surface treated, and subjected to partial thermoforming.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a filament of a moulded polymer product and to a method for producing a web of filaments that includes coating filaments with a latex polymer and forming the filaments into a moulded product, in which a polymer is formed and moulded into a larger web of filaments. The moulded products can be objects intended for clothing, household use, gardening, furniture, health care, engineering, industrial use and consumer goods. The moulded mesh of filaments is "fractal" since it is an interconnected web of filaments at the molecular scale and at the scale of the moulded product. The natural tendency of the filaments of long molecules to form a knotted structure is retained.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a filling comprising a polyester fibre. More particularly it relates to an improved polyester fibre containing filling for use where thermal properties and/or breathability are important, such as in the soft furnishings industry, where it may be used as a filling for bedding, for example duvets, pillows, mattress protectors and sleeping bags or in the clothing industry where it may be used as a filling for coats, anoraks, and the like, particularly ski and winter wear. Polyester fibre, usually polyethyleneterephthalate, is an inexpensive alternative to down or feathers. However it lacks breathability. In an attempt to improve the characteristics of a filling comprising polyester fibre, the polyester fibre has been blended with natural materials such as, for example, cotton, silk, down and feathers. The improvement comprises mixing the polyester with a cellulosic fibre obtained by an organic solvent spinning process to produce a non-woven blend with improved thermal and/or breathability properties. The non-woven may be in the form of fibreballs, a wadding, a padding, a stuffing or a filling material.
