Abstract:
A carrier material for vinyl floor covering is provided wherein the carrier which comprises a nonwoven layer of fibers containing thermoplastic fibers and a scrim for eliminating wrinkles in the vinyl floor covering. The scrim comprises weft threads configured to match the shrinkage in cross machine direction of the nonwoven layer of fibers comprising thermoplastic fibers for preventing the formation of printing errors and/or surface irregularities in the vinyl floor covering. Also use of this carrier in roofing membranes or roofing underlayment sheets.
Abstract:
A vinyl floor covering is provided with reinforcement of segmented woven or non-woven glass fiber mat located on the underside of the vinyl floor covering or at or near the neutral axis of the vinyl floor covering. This segmented mat reinforcement increases the stiffness and mechanical properties of the vinyl floor covering. A polymeric binder separates the segments of the glass fiber mat from each other. Expansion or contraction of the installed vinyl floor covering is restricted to this polymeric binder region. The segments may be aligned with the vinyl floor covering's show surface patterns, thereby preserving pattern integrity. The segmented mat is manufactured by applying and curing a polymeric binder to a woven or non-woven glass fiber mat, and creating segments by the passing the woven or non-woven glass fiber mat with polymeric binder through a set of embossing rollers. The segmented woven or non-woven glass fiber mat with polymeric binder is easily handled by vinyl floor covering machinery.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the carrier substrate for a PVC flooring, to the method of manufacturing said carrier substrate and to the PVC flooring. The PVC flooring is also usually known as CV (cushion vinyl) flooring. More particularly, the present invention relates to the production of a glass fiber carrier substrate, which incorporates a novel barrier layer, said barrier layer being formed of a pigment coating (22) coated on one face of said fibrous substrate (20a).
Abstract:
The present invention provides wall and floor coverings based on a carrier coated with one or more layers. The carrier includes a fiberglass containing mat consolidated with a binder, a non-woven made of organic synthetic fibers bonded with the fiberglass containing mat by needling. Part of the organic fibers penetrate through the fiberglass mat, and one or more layers coated on a glass fiber side of said carrier, opposite the non-woven synthetic mat.
Abstract:
A vinyl floor covering comprising a PVC plastisol impregnated into a carrier which comprises a nonwoven layer of fibers containing thermoplastic fibers and a scrim connected to each other by mechanical and/or thermal bonding. The formation of printing errors and/or surface irregularities in the vinyl floor covering are prevented.
Abstract:
A floor covering includes a wear layer having an uppermost surface and a lowermost surface, a fiber layer comprising a plurality of fibers, and a backing. The plurality of fibers have a first portion integrally joined to the lowermost surface of the wear layer, and a second portion projecting upwardly from the backing, such that the fiber layer extends between the wear layer and the backing.
Abstract:
Mineral web produced by paper manufacturing methods and comprising by dry weight: 40 to 55 parts glass fibres, 35 to 50 parts mineral wool and 5 to 10 parts polyvinyl alcohol binding fibres. Application as a support for floor coverings, wall coverings and insulation.
Abstract:
The flat product has a relief structure upper surface and a pressed pattern related to the relief structure and at least a continuous layer (2) comprised at least partly of a micromolecular foam material. The relief structure is achieved by a variable thickness of the layer (2). The size of the cells of the foam material depends on the thickness of the layer. A fibre material sheet (3) is fixed to the layer (2) on the relief structure surface, and conforms to the shape thereof. It is plastically deformable at the formation temperature of the micromolecular foam material of the layer (2). The flat product is appropriate mainly as a decorative coating of walls and floors.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for the production of bounded non-wovens carriers. The method includes providing a glass staple fiber containing non-woven which is pre-consolidated with a binder. The glass staple fiber non-woven is placed adjacent to one or more non-wovens of synthetic fibers and hydro-dynamically needling at a water beam pressure in the range of 100 to 400 bar.
