Abstract:
Disclosed is a cable comprising a core and a PCM layer surrounding the core wherein the PCM layer consists of a PCM composition wherein the PCM composition comprises a PCM and an ethylene copolymer; and the core consists of a yarn, strand, or wire each made of a natural or synthetic polymeric material or a metal. The invention is useful for thermal management in a variety of applications in such as, for example, automotive, building, packaging, garments, and footwear.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a core-sheath rope (1) comprising an outer sheath (3) in the form of a hollow braid, and an inner sheath (4) in the form of a hollow braid, wherein, at particular points (5, 6), thread changes between threads (41, 42) of the inner sheath (4) and threads (31, 32) of the outer sheath (3) and/or loopings between threads (41, 42) of the inner sheath (4) and threads (31, 32) of the outer sheath (3) are provided. The rope according to the invention is characterized in that bridge threads (51, 61) extending in the longitudinal direction of the robe are provided at the points of the thread changes and/or loopings, the threads, changing from the inside to the outside or from the outside to the inside, of the outer sheath or inner sheath being guided about said bridge threads (51, 61).
Abstract:
Disclosed is a high traction synthetic rope comprising a braided sheath adhered to a strength member by means of a first synthetic portion and portions of material adhered to the outside surface of the braided sheath by means of a second synthetic portion, where the portions of material are formed of a substance that differs from a substance mainly forming the second synthetic portion and also preferably exhibits greater friction when wet and measured on an iron surface than does the substance mainly forming the second synthetic portion.
Abstract:
A self-wrapping, textile sleeve for routing and protecting elongate members from exposure to abrasion, thermal and other environmental conditions and method on construction thereof. The sleeve has an elongate wall constructed from interlaced yams having interstices between adjacent yarns. At least one of the yarns is heat formed at one temperature to form the wall as a self-wrapping wall curling about a longitudinal axis of the sleeve. The wall has an inner surface providing a generally tubular cavity in which the elongate members are received. The wall also has an outer surface with a cured layer thereon. The cured layer is cured at the one temperature at which the yams are heat formed into their self-wrapping configuration, wherein the cured layer fills the interstices between adjunct yarns to form an impervious layer on the wall.
Abstract:
An elongate sleeve for protecting elongate members and method of construction thereof has a textile sleeve with a wall having an inner surface providing a cavity extending along a longitudinal axis of the sleeve for receiving the elongate members. A resilient support member is arranged in communication with the wall. The support member has an arcuate shape in lateral cross-section with an outer convex surface facing outwardly from the axis for flush engagement with the inner surface of the wall and an inner concave surface facing inwardly toward the axis. The support member extends less than completely about a circumference of the inner surface.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a thermal insulation device for elongated bodies that are impinged externally in certain sections by heat, for example for conduits in a motor vehicle. Said device has at least one first inner, heat-resistant protective layer (4) that faces the body and means that dissipate the heat arising in certain sections and that distribute said heat over a wide area.
Abstract:
In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a slickline for use in well drilling and hydrocarbon recovery operations includes a cable and an intermediate layer disposed around the cable. The slickline also includes a doped polymeric coating layered around the intermediate layer. The doped polymeric coating is a different material from the intermediate layer, and the doped polymeric coating includes a polymeric material doped with an element that is detectable within the doped polymeric coating via a detection machine for purposes of determining wear or other aspects about the conditions of the slickline.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a core-sheath rope (1) comprising a textile core (2) having one or more filler threads (21-28) extending in the longitudinal direction of the rope, an outer sheath (3) in the form of a hollow braid, and an inner sheath (4), surrounding the core (2), in the form of a hollow braid. The rope according to the invention is characterized in that at least a part of the filler threads of the core (21-26) is woven individually into the hollow braid (41, 42) of the inner sheath (4).
