Abstract:
The present invention provides a furniture system which includes a partition wall assembly for use in e.g. an office environment. The partition wall has a pair of posts, a panel disposed between the pair of posts, and a pair of connecting members holding the panel and the posts together. A first end portion of the connecting member is slidably fitted into an inner groove portion of the panel along a longitudinal direction. A second end portion of the connecting member is slidably fitted into an inner channel portion of the post along the longitudinal direction. The connecting members restrict relative movement between the posts and the panel along a lateral direction. The panel and the pair of posts are therefore held together by the connecting members to form an integral partition panel.
Abstract:
A dormitory module comprising components erectable from a flat pack to define a free standing wall structure of interconnected panels to define an enclosure with an open side arranged to be closed by a screen or door, at least one of the wall panels being pre wired to lighting and at least one power socket whereby assembly of the panels completes an electrical circuit from the lighting and power socket to an outlet lead that can be coupled to a main supply to provide power to the module.
Abstract:
A freestanding partition panel includes a rigid partition frame having vertical side frame members and first and second horizontal frame members forming an open space within the panel. A removable intermediate horizontal cross member extends across the vertically enlarged opening and defines upper and lower openings. The intermediate cross member and the first and the second horizontal frame members include a plurality of horizontally spaced apart attachment locations. A utility unit is mountable in a variety of different selected portions on the mounting spaces. Cover panels are connected to the intermediate horizontal cross member and the other parts of the frame to cover exposed areas around the utility unit.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a combination table (1) arranged for use as a baby changing table or a desk or a partition, comprising either two vertical side members (2) and one horizontal table top (5) and at least one horizontal shelf (7); or two verticalside members (2) and one horizontal table top (5) and one horizontal crossbeam (10) and alternatively one or more shelves (7) mounted between the side members (2); or at least two vertical side members (2) mounted together by its vertical edges.
Abstract:
A movable partition wall for facilitating wiring work in wiring spaces formed in the wall, comprising recesses (21a) provided in a panel mounting surface (2a) of a side frame member (21) to form wire inserting openings (6) which allow a wiring space (4) to communicate with a side end surface (1a), recesses (23a) provided in the panel mounting surface (2a) of a lower frame member (23) to form wire inserting openings (7) which allow the wiring space (4) to communicate with a lower end surface (1c), and recesses (24a) provided in the panel mounting surface (2a) of a lowermost middle frame member (24) to form wire inserting openings (8) which allow upper and lower wiring spaces (4) to communicate with each other.
Abstract:
A first aspect of the invention concerns a screen panel apparatus (10, 80) comprising at least one upright screen panel (14) including a frame, at least one frame opening (18) bounded by the frame and at least one cladding panel (50) for each frame opening. The cladding panel (50) may be held removably in the opening (18) by means of magnets. The frame may include frame members (16) which define retaining formations (24) in which magnets (38), or magnetic elements, may be accommodated. The cladding panel associated with the opening (18) may carry respective, opposing magnetic members (52), or magnets, that engage the magnets (36), or magnetic members accommodated in the retaining formations (36). The magnetic coupling accordingly holds the cladding panel (50) releasably in place relative to the frame. A second aspect of the invention concerns a cladding panel (50) for a screen. The cladding panel (50) may, for example, carry magnets, or magnetic members (52), for magnetic engagement with respective magnetic elements, or magnets (36), on a frame of a screen panel apparatus (10, 80).
Abstract:
A straddle bin for an office furniture system with walls comprised of modular partitions. The straddle bin provides two adjacent compartments extending through an office partition with one compartment open to a first side of the partition only and the other compartment open to a second side of the partition only, and with sliding doors on each side of the partition to close the compartment opening on that side and when open, to lie over a blind, closed rear end of the adjacent compartment. The straddle bin provides private compartments for users on both sides of the partition.
Abstract:
A partition structure comprising a rectangular peripheral frame (10) has two spaced apart generally vertical members (12) and two spaced apart generally horizontal members (14U, 14L). The horizontal frame members (14U, 14L) are connected to the vertical frame members (12) at the corners thereof. A substantially rigid panel section (22) is connected to and confers rigidity to the frame.
