Abstract:
A safe construction of the swing and slide type having a door swing style and a door closing style which defines both the door slot and a landing surface against which the door edge closes, a door with a hooked closing edge, wherein between the landing surface and the end of the slot there is a gap bridged by a displaceable member over which the hooked closing edge slides freely during opening and closing but when the door edge is forced inwardly toward the interior of the safe by prying, the hooked closing edge displaces the displaceable member inwardly to a resistant position in which the hooked closing edge and the closing style mutually obstruct thereby preventing the door from sliding out of the slot. In a preferred version the displaceable member is spring biassed to recover its position.
Abstract:
A secure enclosure for an automated banking machine includes a safe chest portion and a moveable door. The door has mounted thereon a locking bolt work mechanism which is operable to secure the door in a closed position. The door is mounted to the chest with the use of hinge assemblies having respective hinge pins. The hinge assemblies enable the door to be selectively adjusted in up-down and right-left directions. The door can be moved in the up-down direction via an adjustable set screw operative to move vertically relative to a hinge pin. The door can be moved in the right-left direction via adjustable set screws operative to engage and pivot the hinge pin. Thus, the door can be aligned with the chest opening.
Abstract:
What is claimed is a door assembly including a door post, a first door plate and a second door plate secured together to form a door body having a hinge end mountable by a hinge to the door post, a door lock mounted in the door body, and a door post locking assembly, mounted in an inner volume of the door post, selectively actuable by the door lock to be brought into locking engagement with the first door plate.
Abstract:
A method of providing a movable aperture closing system having the steps of providing a hinge and capture stile member, wherein the frame members are disposed along opposing marginal edges of an aperture. Each frame member has a channel disposed substantially along the length of each channel in the hinge and capture stile members. There is further provided a hinge intermediate the hinge stile frame member and the internal face of the aperture closing device which is adapted to move from a closed captive position covering the aperture wherein the hinge side and capture side marginal edges of the aperture closing device are retained within respective hinge and capture stile frame channels to an uncaptured position wherein at least the capture side marginal edge of the aperture closing device is clear of the capture stile frame member channel and is free to move to uncover the aperture. The hinge configured to permit movement of the aperture closing device toward or away from respective hinge and capture channels.

Abstract:
A safe of the swing and slide type has a closing style (4) which has a landing surface (154) for the safe door (16) and a pocket (164) for housing the closing edge of the door. That edge (150) is outwardly turned to prevent the insertion of a pry bar between the door (16) and the hook (152) of the closing style. The pocket has a ramp face (162) which guides the closing edge of the door during the slide open and slide closed phases. In different variants, a ramp face (168) is provided on the door also; a second ramp face (166) is provided on the hook of the closing style; a door seat (172) is incorporated into ramp (162).

Abstract:
A secure enclosure (10) for an automated banking machine includes a chest portion (12) and a moveable door (14). The door is supported on hinge assemblies (20, 22) which enable mounting and accurately positioning of the door despite misalignment of the hinges. The chest portion is manufactured from panels (28, 36, 38, 66, 76) which include interengaging projections and recesses. The projections and recesses ensure that the proper panels are used in the assembly of the particular type of secure enclosure, as well as that the panels which make up the enclosure are properly oriented.
Abstract:
A lockable enclosure includes a housing and an access door. The access door includes a hinge portion connected with a first side wall of the housing and is pivotable about the hinge portion between closed and open positions. When the access door is in the closed position, the hinge portion of the access door is slideable for sliding movement of the access door between a latching position in which a first latch portion of the access door engages a corresponding second latch portion of the housing to secure the access door in the closed position, and a release position in which the first interlock portion disengages from the second interlock portion to permit pivoting movement of the access door from the closed position to the open position. The access door further comprises at least one locking feature configured to secure the closed access door in the latching position.
