Abstract:
An architectural covering with an operable vane having a fabric backing is provided. The vane may include a vane fabric and a backing material connected to the vane fabric by a layer of adhesive. The backing material may increase a machine-direction stiffness of the vane while slightly affecting a cross-direction stiffness of the vane. As such, the vane may have increased stiffness in its machine direction while simultaneously remaining flexible in its cross direction.
Abstract:
The importance and necessity of economizing energy is clear to all. During the summer season, some part of the coolness in the buildings may be wasted because of the heat cause by the sun shine. On the other hand, sun heat can be used to keep the house warm during the winter and reduce the use of heating systems. In the present invention, a gray anti-UV Thin Sheet Plexiglass has been used and it consists of different degrees of darkness. The degree of darkness differs from the top to the bottom and it changes from the lowest extent of darkness to the highest. The height of this sheet is several times as high as the height of window and it is coiled around two cylinders from the up and down side. One of the cylinders is placed in the upper frame of the window and the other one is in the bottom frame.

A roller blind including a sheet element secured at one end to a roller tube mounted for rotation, and secured at its opposite end to a fixed element located adjacent to the roller tube such that the sheet element defines a return portion located between the two ends; and a roller blind bottom bar (4) located within the return portion, wherein the roller blind bottom bar includes a tubular body and an end cap (2) carried by each end of the tubular body, the end caps including a proximal portion (6) located adjacent to the tubular body, a distal portion (8) spaced from the tubular body, and an outwardly flared portion (10) located between the proximal and distal portions such that the end cap flares outwards from the proximal portion to the distal portion.

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for providing continuous light-transmissivity tuning through a mechanical smart window. In one aspect, a mechanical smart window including multiple layers is provided, each layer featuring light-blocking and light-transmitting areas. The layers may be moved relative to each other, changing the amount by which each light-blocking area occludes light-transmitting areas on other layers.
Abstract:
Technologies are generally described for a window glazing. In some examples, a window glazing can be configured to selectively block sunlight from entering the window during summer when it may be desirable to have inside temperatures substantially lower than outside temperatures. The glazing can also be configured to selectively allow sunlight to enter the window during winter months when heat from sunlight may be desirable to raise indoor temperatures. The glazing can be prepared from a transparent material that can allow substantially full transmission of sunlight.

A dual roll blind system is able to adjust a light shading degree and comprises a winding roll which includes a roll casing rotatably supported between both side plates of a ceiling bracket; a driving winding roll which includes a moving member disposed between both side plates in parallel with the winding roll and is thread-engaged with a screw shaft rotating by means of a blind winding device of one side, a straight moving member which is provided for left and right straight movements by restricting the rotation of the moving member, and a roll casing engaged with the moving member and the straight moving member; a first blind raw material of which upper end is fixed at the winding roll and in which a light transmission part and a light non- transmission part having constant widths are alternately formed in a width wise direction; a second blind raw material of which upper end is fixed at the driving winding roll and which has a light transmission part and a light non-transmission part corresponding to the first blind raw material and is movable left and right; and a counter weight bar which fixes a lower end of the first blind raw material with a lower end of the second blind raw material being slidably inserted into the counter weight bar in a parallel direction.
