Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
A window shade system includes a roller, fabric wrapped on the roller, a flexible line wrapped around a drum that supports the fabric, a clutch coupled to the drum, a constant torque spring applying torque to the fabric, and a variable torque spring that applies torque to clutch.
Abstract:
A roller blind including a sheet element secured at one end to a roller tube mounted for rotation, and secured at its opposite end to a fixed element located adjacent to the roller tube such that the sheet element defines a return portion located between the two ends; and a roller blind bottom bar (4) located within the return portion, wherein the roller blind bottom bar includes a tubular body and an end cap (2) carried by each end of the tubular body, the end caps including a proximal portion (6) located adjacent to the tubular body, a distal portion (8) spaced from the tubular body, and an outwardly flared portion (10) located between the proximal and distal portions such that the end cap flares outwards from the proximal portion to the distal portion.
Abstract:
A roll-up curtain closure system having an impact resistant tension rod, wherein the system includes at least one flexible curtain (18, 41) having a first end fixedly attached adjacent a portal (11) along a first end thereof and a second end (23, 43) folded back on itself to define a pocket (24, 44) opening towards the portal first end, an elongated tension rod (34, 35) captured within the pocket, and a curtain driving mechanism (33) operably connected to the curtain second end for varying the height of the pocket. The elongated tension rod (34, 35) comprises an inner flexible fiberglass bar (36) surrounded by an outer soft closed cell foam material (37), whereby the tension rod is flexible to bend in response to impact force and is resilient to return to its original position after the impact force is removed.
Abstract:
A roll-up closure utilizing a flexible cover (18). The cover (18) is at least as wide as the portal (11) to be covered and is typically longer than the portal (11). Each lateral margin (21, 22) of the cover (18) has a strip of fastener material (27) affixed thereto, and a complementary strip (26) is affixed to the lateral margins (12, 13) of the structure defining the portal (11). A first end (19) of the cover (18) is affixed across a first margin (17) of the portal (11). The opposite end (23) is upturned and connected to a take-up roller (31) mounted above the first margin (17) of the portal (11). A transverse rod (34) is supported within a pocket formed by the upturned end (23). Activation of the roller (31) lengthens or shortens the effective length of the cover (18) and the mating fasteners (26, 27) are positioned to seal and unseal the cover (18) to the lateral margins (12, 13) of the portal (11). Additional elements can be included to promote formation of an adequate seal.
