Abstract:
Abstract:
A divisible cap piece (1) for fixing of a crankshaft on a cylinder housing, characterized in that it comprises a hump (2) on its flanks allowing to retract the fractured surface (4) in relation to the protrusion of the hump. According to the present invention, an adaptation method for the cap piece (1) permits operation of the cap piece after breakage and without modifying the fractured surface (4).
Abstract:
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine (300) for a vehicle, such as a motorcycle (20), includes a crankcase (380), two banks of cylinders (320a, 320b) projecting from the crankcase (380) in a V-configuration, a plurality of pushrods (364), and a plurality of camshafts (360a, 360b, 360c) supported by the crankcase (380). The two banks of cylinders (320a, 320b) include a first cylinder bank that projects from the crankcase (380) to a first cylinder head (340a), and a second cylinder bank that projects from the crankcase (380) to a second cylinder head (340b). The plurality of pushrods (364) extend between the crankcase (380) and the first and second cylinder heads (340a, 340b), and the plurality of camshafts include only the first, second and third camshafts (360a, 360b, 360c).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cylinder crankcase (1, 201, 301, 401, 501) for an internal combustion engine with a lightweight design, comprising at least one cast part (4, 204, 304, 404, 504) that has been cast into an external structure (2, 202, 302, 402, 502). To save weight and at the same time permit high combustion pressures, the cast part (4, 204, 304, 404, 504) consists, (at least partially) of a particle-reinforced light alloy, preferably a particle-reinforced aluminium or magnesium alloy.
Abstract:
A journal bearing structure for a crankshaft, where cracks are prevented from occurring in a cylinder block. A journal bearing structure for a crankshaft, supporting a journal (35) of a crankshaft (33) in a sandwiched manner by holding it by a cylinder block (30) and a bearing cap (3), wherein an outer side end section in a width direction of a joining surface (3a), to which the cylinder block (30) is joined, of the bearing cap (3) is formed to have projections and recesses. Grooves extending in the width direction may be formed in a longitudinal direction on the outer end section in the width direction of the joining surface of the bearing cap. A joining line (boundary line of tension) on the cylinder block, on which line the outer end section in the width direction of the bearing cap and the cylinder block are joined, is shaped to have projections and recesses in the width direction and becomes longer, and as a result, tensile stress occurring in the cylinder block can be dispersed in the width direction to prevent cracks from occurring.
