Abstract:
A support adaptor assembly for a bearing press comprising a rectangular shaped header plate (1), a pair of adjustable support rods (4) each with an adaptor (9) on one end for providing a means of supporting an object (50) to be worked on with a bearing press either above or below the support members of the bearing press.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a rotating assembly includes providing an impeller including a shaft and at least one blade. The method also includes providing a thrust plate configured to contact a bearing fluid. The method further includes brazing the thrust plate to the impeller.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a superconducting bearing (7) comprising a first bearing ring (1) having a first body (2) consisting of a type-2 superconducting material, and a second bearing ring having a second body (8) consisting of a type-2 superconducting material. The first body (2) has an impressed magnetic field (9), and the second body (8) is arranged at least in sections in the magnetic field (9) of the first body (2). The superconducting bearing (7) according to the invention enables improved force absorption. The invention also relates to a method for assembling a superconducting bearing.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Various embodiments of stand-off devices and methods are disclosed. The stand¬ off device can space a bearing assembly apart from a support, such as a frame of a conveyor belt, thereby providing access between the bearing assembly and the frame, such as for cleaning fluid. Certain embodiments of the stand-off device include a first end and a second end, with the first end being receivable in a securing hole of the bearing assembly and the second end configured to protrude from the bearing assembly.
Abstract:
Stray magnetic fields created by non-symmetrical magnetisation of the permanent magnets in a rotating magnet array of a magnetic bearing assembly, when used in turbo molecular pumps, can cause significant problems to devices such as scanning electron microscopes. In order to minimise the stray fields, at least the dipole and quadrupole moments of each magnet in the array is first measured. The magnets in the array are then arranged relative to one another such that both the dipole and quadrupole moments are minimised, thus minimising the stray magnetic field when the magnet array rotates in the turbomolecular pump.

Abstract:
A tolerance ring has a band (16) with outwardly extending corrugated protrusions forming waves (2) which engage a surface (8) of the bore (4) in a housing (5). At one end of the tolerance ring is an outwardly flared guide surface (15a, 15b) extending axially from the band (16). The guide surface (15a, 15b) acts as an enlarged entrance to the band (16) for a shaft (3) to be mounted in the bore (4) by insertion into the tolerance ring. The use of the guide surface (15a, 15b) assists assembly and reduces or eliminates particle production. It is also possible for the corrugated portions to extend inwardly, for the guide surface to be inwardly flared, and for the tolerance ring to be mounted on the shaft prior to insertion in the bore.
