    摘要: [Problem] To provide a chain link which can improve wear resistance even under lubricating conditions in adhesive mode. [Solution] Steel link plates 2 for a silent chain having pinholes 22 for inserting linking pins 3 are formed. A hardened layer obtained by performing heat treatment (martempering, for example) is formed on the inner circumferential surface of the pinholes 22, and a large number of hard particles hp having the same hardness as or a greater hardness than the surface hardness of said hardened layer are dotted in a crystalline state within the martensite structure on the surface layer section of the hardened layer. The hard particles hp are an oxide, carbide or nitride of any element from Cr, V, Ti and Nb which was originally present in the steel of the link plate material.

A mechanism for preventing backbend is provided, in the chain length direction, with a plurality of spring washer structures (5) consisting of a pair of left-right spring washer parts (50, 51) which have linking pins (3) inserted therein, and linking bars (55) for linking the areas between the spring washer parts (50, 51); and adjacent spring washer structures (5) in the chain length direction extend in the length direction of the chain in a state in which the spring washer parts (50, 51) of each are overlapping. When link plates (2) undergo backbend, the spring washer structures (5) flex together with the link plates (2), and the mutual rotation of the spring washer parts (50, 51) causes an increase in the thickness of the spring washer structures (5).

A silent chain 1 is configured by stacking a large number of link plates 2 comprising a pair of tooth parts 22 and pin holes 21 in the thickness direction and the lengthwise direction, and also arranging guide plates 4 on the outermost side of the link plates 2, and coupling the link plates 2 and the guide plates 4 by means of connecting pins 3. In this case, hemispherical protruding parts 45 which can come into sliding contact with guide parts 56B of a chain guide 56 and guide parts 57B of a tension arm 57 during travel of the silent chain 1 are provided on an outer side surface 4A of the guide plates 4. By virtue of this, the contact between the silent chain 1 and the chain guide 56 and tension arm 57 is made to be point contact, and friction loss during travel of the chain can be reduced.
