A safety enclosure includes an adaptor arranged to attach to a cartridge or product barrel of a pumping system. The adaptor defines an axial bore and an outer radial surface. The outer radial surface defines a first plurality of radial ridges and a plurality of gaps extending in an axial direction between groupings of the first radial ridges. A cap includes a radial inner surface defining a receiving space and a second plurality of radial ridges. The receiving space is arranged to receive an upper portion of the adaptor and the second radial ridges are arranged to selectively mate with and engage the first radial ridges of the adaptor. A locking system includes a locking arm movably attached to the cap and including a lock piece arranged to selectively protrude into the receiving space to lock the first radial ridges in engagement with the second radial ridges.

Disclosed is a hydrogen generator with a door that can be opened to replace a fuel unit and closed to seal the door. A lock responds directly to pressure within the chamber to prevent opening when the pressure exceeds a threshold value. The lock includes a locking member with a lug that engages a retainer to seal the door when the door is locked and is disengaged from the retainer when the door is unlocked. An opening mechanism moves the locking member to lock and unlock the door. A movable key is engaged with the opening mechanism and the locking member when the pressure in the chamber is at or below the threshold value and disengaged from one of the opening mechanism and the locking member by an actuator (e.g., a flexible diaphragm) so the door cannot be unlocked and opened when the pressure is above the threshold value.

Bei einem elektromagnetischen Ventil (1) für einen Druckbehälter, umfassend ein Ventilgehäuse (2) und einen Ventilgrundkörper (21) mit einer ersten Öffnung (11) zum Ein- und/oder Ausleiten des Fluids aus einem Druckbehälter und einer zweiten Öffnung (12) zum Ein- und Ausleiten des Fluids in das oder aus dem Ventil (1), eine Magnetspule, ein, eine Durchgangsbohrung (6) aufweisendes Dichtelement (5), ein Federelement (4), einen beweglichen Stößel (3), auf welchen bei deaktivierter Magnetspule (8) durch das Federelement (4) eine Druckkraft aufbringbar ist, so dass der Stößel (3) die Durchgangsbohrung (6) des Dichtelementes (5) verschließt, und welcher bei aktivierter Magnetspule bewegbar ist, wobei der Stößel (3) Raum zur freien Bewegung aufweist, einen Mitnehmer (7), der mit dem Stößel (3) verbunden ist, zum Bewegen des Dichtelementes (5) soll das Ventil (1) so ausgebildet sein, dass nur ein geringer Kraftaufwand zur Verfügung gestellt werden muss, um das Dichtelement (5) aus seinem Sitz zu bewegen und dabei eine direkte Verbindung zwischen einer ersten Öffnung (11) zum Ein- und Ausleiten des Fluids aus dem Druckbehälter und einer zweiten Öffnung (12) zum Ein- und Ausleiten des Fluids in das oder aus dem Ventil (1) freizugeben. Disclosed is a pressure relief valve (10) for attachment to a closed vessel (12) having an opening (14) to vent gas and liquids from the housing (12) should the internal housing pressure rise to unacceptable levels. The valve (10) includes a single gasket (26) that seals between a valve disk (28) and a collar (16) disposed about the opening (14). The gasket (26) is fixed to the collar (16) by a single retaining ring (42) and effects seals with the disk (28) in two planes, one seal is in a plane (50) that is parallel to the plane (21) of the opening (14) and the second seal is in a plane (52) that is generally normal to the plane of the opening (14). Moreover, the second seal remains in tact for a short time after the first seal is broken to permit the rapid separation of the valve disk (28) from the gasket (26) to vent gas and liquids from the housing (12).

The safety plate (13) is fast on a shaft (15) rotatable in the end plate (2) and adapted (at 18) to be turned from outside. The safety plate (13) has recesses (15) in its peripheral edge (14) through which recesses (15) respective tie rods (7) can pass. The tie rods (7) have recesses (19) which can receive the unrelieved edge (14) of the safety plate (13) when in a certain angular position and thus prevent longitudinal relative movement between the safety plate (13) and the tie rods (7).

When pressure within the cell exceeds pressure outside the cell, the lock may lie in a first position, preventing relative movement between the base and the top. When pressure within the cell does not exceed pressure outside the cell, the lock may lie in a second position, allowing relative movement between the base and the top to cause the connector to move the first portion of the wing, thereby causing the second portion of the wing to move.

The present invention relates to a steam generating apparatus (50) comprising a boiler (52) for receiving water to be heated, an opening (54, 126) in a wall of the boiler, the opening being closable by closing means (56, 128, 136), and a steam duct (58) for conducting steam generated in the boiler (52) to steam applying means (60), wherein a by-pass duct (62, 130) by-passing the steam duct (58) is provided for discharging steam from the boiler (52) to the steam applying means (60). The present invention further relates to a method of operating a steam generating apparatus (50).
