A sealing component and a method of manufacturing a sealing component (80) includes defining a configuration for the sealing component, wherein the configuration comprises a cross-section comprising a first wall (81) and a second wall (83) joined by a turning wall (75) to form a generally U-shape, the first wall and the second wall comprising a variable cross-sectional thickness, wherein the cross-section is taken along a plane extending along an axial axis of the sealing component and the cross-section extends in a circumferential direction. The method also includes depositing a powder into a chamber, applying an energy source to the deposited powder, and consolidating the powder into a layer according to the defined configuration.

A waste disposal system (50) includes a water-less toilet with a bowl (40), a side-opening valve (1) and a cylindrical pipe pig (80), the valve being used in a pigging fluid flush system for the water-less toilet, where the toilet bowl (40) empties into the side opening of the side-opening valve (1) when opened. When the side-opening valve (1) is closed, the pig (80) pushes the waste in the side-opening valve (1) to a sewage system. The side-opening valve (1) has an inner cylindrical barrel with a shaped opening through the wall, an outer cylindrical barrel having shaped opening through the wall, where the barrels are co-annular and rotatable, and a means for rotating the inner barrel relative to the outer barrel between a first open position where the shaped openings overlap to form a side opening into the valve, and a second closed position where the shaped openings do not overlap.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif (1 ) de mise en obturation destiné à une targette (2) présentant une ouverture (2a) pour la réception d'un tuyau d'aspiration de poussières et résidus dans une machine de travail industriel, la targette (2) présentant un obturateur (2b) de son ouverture (2a) mobile. Le dispositif (1 ) présente un chariot (3) et des moyens d'entraînement (5, 7) motorisés du chariot engageant directement ou indirectement une portion (2c) de l'obturateur (2b) de la targette (2) pour le déplacement sélectif de l'obturateur (2b) et comporte des moyens amovibles de positionnement (4) par rapport à la targette (2) ou un élément fixe de la machine relié à la targette (2). An outlet tube for a material transfer system. The outlet tube comprises a body and at least one restrictor. The body is adapted to be connected to a feed system. The body has an inner wall that defines an opening adapted to receive material from the feed system such that the body is adapted to allow a flow of the material through the opening and out of the tube. At least one restrictor extends inwardly from the inner wall of the body into the opening. The restrictor(s) is adapted to extend into the flow of the material to impede the flow. In addition, the restrictor(s) is configured to enable the material to flow around it to exit out of the tube.

A shear valve for use in a downhole tool between the annulus and tubing in a well comprises an outer housing and an internal body movable in a longitudinal direction within the housing when the valve is activated, and at least one obstruction device which can be arranged to obstruct the internal body from moving. The obstruction device is capable of being deactivated by pressure from the tubing side of the valve.
