The invention provides a troffer-based lighting arrangement (100) comprising end plates (1100) and a lighting unit (1200) configured between said end plates (1100), wherein the lighting unit (1200) comprises a grounding point (1207) and head ends, wherein the end plates (1100) are associated with the respective head ends via connectors (1300), wherein the lighting unit (1200) and end plates (1100) are in physical contact with each other for providing grounding continuity between the lighting unit (1200) and the end plates (1100), and which connectors (1300) comprise head end locking tabs and end plate locking slots (1103), wherein the locking tabs reside in the respective locking slots (1103).

The light base (14) is of substantially cylindrical design and is provided with Edison thread (16) which extends concentrically around a central axis L of the light base (14). Further, the LED-light (10) comprises a number of LEDs (18) mounted in or on the light frame (12) and at least one photovoltaic cell (20) mounted in or on the light frame (12). Connected with the light frame (12) or the light base (14) is a battery (22), as well as an electric circuit (24). Connected to the electric circuit are the number of LEDs (18), the battery (22) and the at least one photovoltaic cell (20).

A linear light-emitting diode (LED)-based solid-state lamp using a novel voltage sensing and control mechanism operates normally in both single-ended and double-ended luminaire fixtures. The voltage sensing and control mechanisms automatically detect supply source configuration in the fixture and make proper management so that the linear LED lamp works in any fixtures without operational uncertainty or risk of fire. When used with shock protection switches on the two lamp bases at two opposite ends, the universal lamp fully protects a person from possible electric shock during initial installation and re-lamping.

An illumination system comprises an array of light emitting elements, an array of directional optical elements and a light deflecting means arranged to provide a fan of light cones. A position detector senses the retroreflection from an observer's eyes and a control system reduces the intensity of light directed towards the retroreflection region. Such a system achieves glare reduction for a line-of-sight illumination apparatus.

The invention relates to a lamp, such as a headlamp, comprising: a light source comprising at least one LED-type diode; a power module for generating an electrical current supply from said light source, said module being controlled by an information message or a control signal; and a module for controlling the regulation of the light intensity generated by the light source. The invention is characterised in that the control module comprises an image sensor generating at least one image of the area illuminated by said light source, and means for processing said image in order to generate said information message or said control signal. The lamp also comprises an image processor that can carry out complex analyses of the image, especially identifying a rope, detecting fog etc...

The present invention discloses an integrated electronic light source module that has a base plate to support an electronic light source; a power supply to drive this light source; and a heat sink to dissipate the heat generated by this invention. The cooling fins of the heat sink are in perpendicular relation to the axis along which the natural flow of heat is oriented. Such a setup provides for effective heat dissipation and a more rapid cooling then disclosed in the prior art. Although, the present invention can be completely autonomous, an optional coupling unit can be included that is adapted to connect to an external power source, such as a socket of a light fixture. The electronic light source embodies the use of an LED element, or of a more traditional fluorescent lighting. The present invention increases modularity of the device by integrating all components needed for an effective prolonged illumination into a single swapable module.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Beleuchtungseinheit für Fahrzeugscheinwerfer mit einer Leuchtdiodeneinrichtung (500), einem Gehäuse (200) und einer Montageplatine (400), auf der Komponenten einer Betriebsschaltung zum Betreiben der Leuchtdiodeneinrichtung (500) angeordnet sind, wobei das Gehäuse (200) und die Montageplatine (400) einen Innenraum bilden, wobei die Montageplatine (400) eine elektrisch leitende innere Schicht (410) aufweist, die mit einem Massebezugspotential der Betriebsschaltung verbunden ist, und die Montageplatine (400) auf ihrer Oberfläche mindestens eine elektrische Kontaktfläche (440) besitzt, die mit der elektrisch leitenden inneren Schicht (410) kontaktiert ist, und wobei das Gehäuse (200) elektromagnetische Abschirmmittel (240, 240') zur elektromagnetischen Abschirmung des Innenraums besitzt, die mit der mindestens einen Kontaktfläche (440) verbunden sind.
