Abstract:
An impinger for cooling or freezing products includes an impingement plate containing openings for directing impingement jets of a mixture of gas and solid or liquid cryogen toward the products transported on a conveyor, wherein the openings in aggregate have an open area of about 7% to about 12% of the total surface area of the impingement plate, the impingement plate providing a back pressure restriction of about 220 to about 475 Pa, A process for cooling or freezing products within a housing chamber includes transporting the products, particularly IQF food products, on a moving substrate within the chamber, mixing a gas with solid or liquid cryogen to form a mixture, directing the mixture to the aforementioned impinger; and selectively directing the pressurized impingement jets of the mixture from the impingement plate toward the products transported on the substrate.
Abstract:
A refrigerated transportation cargo container includes a transportation cargo container (10) and a refrigeration unit (24) located at an end of the transportation cargo container (10) to provide a flow of supply air (40) for the transportation cargo container (10). The refrigeration unit (24) includes a compressor (26) and an engine (36) operably connected to the compressor (26) to drive the compressor (26). An engine air intake (54) is located at a top wall (12) of the cargo container (10) to direct a flow of engine intake air (52) from outside the cargo container (10) toward the engine (36), and an air channel (50) extends from the engine air intake (54) to the engine (36).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a refrigeration appliance. The refrigeration appliance comprises a first storage chamber (2) and a second storage chamber (3) which are arranged side by side, a separation wall (4, 4') which separates the first storage chamber (2) and the second storage chamber (3) from each other, an air passage (5) for supplying cooling air to at least one of the first storage chamber (2) and the second storage chamber (3), and a fan (6) disposed in the air passage (5). According to the disclosure, the separation wall (4, 4') comprises a recessed space (7, 7'), wherein at least a portion of the fan (6) is disposed in the recessed space (7, 7'), and/or at least a portion of the air passage (5) is defined in the recessed space (7, 7'). Abstract:
A refrigeration system configured for use with a trailer including a container having a roof, a first sidewall, and a second sidewall. The refrigeration system includes a refrigeration unit configured to couple to the trailer and operable to condition the container. The refrigeration system also includes a duct in fluid communication between the refrigeration unit and an opening in the first sidewall. The duct is configured to direct an airflow in at least one of a first direction toward the refrigeration unit and a second direction away from the refrigeration unit.
