A lighting device is disclosed having a plurality of LED chips mounted on a single planar flexible substrate, wherein the single planar flexible substrate is disposed in an arcuate orientation. A heat sink having an arcuate surface shaped to approximate the arcuate orientation of the flexible substrate is coupled to the flexible substrate between complementary arcuate surfaces. A luminescent coating is disposed about a top surface of the arcuate single planar flexible substrate.

An apparatus for a mobile light source is described. The apparatus comprising: a first outer casing housing an array of lights, wherein the array of lights are located on a surface of a substrate, a second outer casing coupled with the first outer casing to create an enclosure that is substantially water tight, a heat shield composed of a metal alloy creating two compartments in the enclosure such that the array of lights is situated in a first compartment, and a printed circuit board (PCB) with circuitry for controlling the array of lights, the PCB situated in the second compartment of the enclosure housed by the second outer casing, and wherein a surface the PCB is substantially parallel to the surface of the substrate.

A protective covering configured for use with a mobile electronics device, including a front wall and a plurality of side walls defining a primary cavity. A back wall is disposed within the primary cavity separating the primary cavity into a protective covering electronics housing cavity and a mobile electronic device housing cavity. One or more apertures are disposed within the front wall. A light source is disposed within the protective covering electronics housing cavity, wherein at least a portion of the light source is disposed outside of the protective covering electronics housing cavity and through at least one of the one or more apertures in the front wall. A heat sink is disposed within the protective covering electronics housing cavity and in contact with the light source.

According to the invention, an LED fixture is provided for photographic and theatrical lighting. The light fixture is particularly suitable for photographic and theatrical lighting by mounting LED elements directly or indirectly on articulating arms. The arms rotate 90 degrees from a position where the arms are aligned substantially in parallel with an axis of the fixture hub and may be rotated 90 degrees for deployment of the fixture. In addition, the spokes may be flexed beyond the alignment permitted by the cooperation between the hub and mounting elements.

One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a lighting apparatus. A base panel can comprise a flexible material that is configured to be manipulated into a first configuration, comprising a compact arrangement, and a second configuration, comprising a use arrangement. A lighting element holding panel, operably engaged with the base panel, can comprise a plurality of pockets, each configured to receive at least one lighting element; and can be comprised of a flexible transparent and/or translucent material. At least one of a plurality of lighting elements can be disposed in each pocket of the lighting element holding panel; where each of the lighting elements may comprise one or more light emitting semiconductors that are configured to produce white light. The flexible base panel and holding panel may allow the lighting apparatus to be compacted for storage and/or transport, and opened up for use.

A portable, handheld lighting apparatus having a light intensity control component, a focus control component, and a light source accommodation component. The lighting apparatus is configured to be handheld with a single hand wherein the light intensity control component and the focus control components are accessible with the single hand to hold the apparatus. The lighting apparatus may be part of a kit that contains one or more of the following: various light modifying components, a power source, charger and various light sources.
